How the hell was Avatar misunderstood? A shit ton more people loved Avatar than the people who opposed it. The majority of critics liked Avatar as well. And the acting WAS shit. 
 
Tron should not be compared to Avatar except if you are talking about blue dudes. Than I guess it's alright to put them in the same ballpark.
