Best of 2011
Honourable mentions that I haven't played enough to feel comfortable putting on this list. The Witcher 2, Skyward Sword, Dota 2, Serious Sam 3: BFE, Assassin's Creed Revelations, Batman: Arkham City and Mortal Kombat.
What a year!

What a year!
This game is not for everyone, however, this game is for me.
Some pacing issues, less than stellar boss fights and a relatively weak ending stop this one from being #1, but holy shit is this game good.
Calling my homie on my smartphone to deliver a VTOL to me, flying said VTOL above my destination, diving out, not opening my parachute at all and walking away.
Such is life on the Row.
Be advised, enemy flashlight spotted, over.
The Back to Karkand maps make this game complete, and easily the shooter of the year.
I'd rate it higher if it weren't so damn embarrassing to have on my shelf.
The part in co-op where you realise you have to bounce off eachother in mid-air is quite possibly my moment of the year.
A solid and surprisingly complete end to the franchise, amazingly constructed campaign, improved co-op, horde & beast mode and the best iteration of Gears multiplayer to date. Oh, and fucking Thrashball.
I'm sure I'd rate this higher if I could just find the free time to play this one some more, 40 hours in and I feel I've done nothing, joy!
FUCK YOU, AND FUCK YOUR MARKER.
Only played this in the very last week of 2011, I get why everyone raves about this game now, holy shit.
