@nightriff: I remember thinking Rita's death was a bit of a shocker, I was told she lived in the novels? But yeah I get where you're coming from on the telegraphing especially as they'd normally build towards it over a series and telegraph it pretty heavily.

@nightriff: I wouldn't say EVERYONE is fine throughout the Dexter series. There's a death or two that seems pretty high profile.

I'm not so sure I'd say it's a trope but I often have trouble suspending disbelief when watching 24. I find myself thinking "At some point the authorities would pick up on X/Y/Z and then the situation would be resolved" or when the 3-4 bad guys repel a 40 man swat team because they have a camera feed showing them entering or some other incredibly negligible advantage.

As far as tropes go though, every computer being a keyboard only interface and people hacking closed circuits through the internet always makes me shake my fist.

Yes, definitely getting burnt out on windjammers. Kind of disappointing that now whenever any of them say "special livestream" all I hear is "2 hours of windjammers" and immediately tune out.

I'm sure it's probably a fantastic game to play but with how the commentary by those playing it has degraded to grunts and yells as they try to score it's just sort of become a noisy screensaver with very little to recommend it as far as enjoyable viewing. I can not understand the zeitgeist around it, maybe it's that whole community desperately needing something they can call their own?

I'd just like some variety. God! how I crave some variety in their livestreams of late...

I think a lot of the people who keep picking sniper just have an image of it being some kind of badass thing where they outsmart the opposition and are bad ass special forces etc. Wish fulfillment where they are sure they'd be expert marksman in the real world etc.

I'm going to generalise horrifically here but people who pick sniper tend to be the sort of people who have a gun and military fetish and can tell you the incredibly boring specifications of their favourite sniper rifle etc.

Anytime I've tried playing sniper in battlefield games it just makes me realise how sniping means you miss out on all the awesome moments like diving into a building as a tank drives through it and you place c4 and detonate it on the tank as a helicopter and jet collide and the shrapnel spins off around you.

It's a shame because Dota 2 is such a rip off of League of Legends, Heroes of Newerth, Awesomenauts and Blizzard's generi-name of the storm fight retribution wrath.

that's just like your opinion man, I personally didn't find any draw to the last of us characters and think they brute forced any emotional response they wanted from their audience rather than making characters that I actually found interesting. In portal 2 Glados is expanded upon and I can see a case for people's enjoyment of her portrayal.

I'd hazard a guess that more people played portal than played last of us and will vote on the fact they've experienced one and not the other.

If we're going that route I'll play devil's advocate and say that people calling a female robotic voice the best female character of the generation is a damning indictment of how poor females are represented in videogames and a sign why people want "more awesome female characters as protagonists"

Your dog is a microsoft plant, he's attempting to destroy the competition and will soon start barking in a way that sounds eerily like the words 'kinect' and 'input one'

The worst I've had from my current dog is his fascination with shoes, sleeps on a pile of them that he'll track down and sleep with his head in a woman's shoe every night. Ended up finding a present in my shoe the one morning, would've been fine if I'd been awake enough to look before jamming my foot into the shoe.

I fucking hate all of videogame culture I swear...
