I apologize if this has been answered before, but how's the voice acting and soundtrack? Is it fully voiced - except for letters and notes -, or is it text only with the occasional voices within the main story? Or completely text based? I am definitely intrigued by this game as it seems like a game I would like, though I have only played Divinity: The Dragon Knight Saga, which seems completely different from this. In that game you could create a character, but the options was bad, how does this game fair?
I am just looking forward to be playing a regular Sims game without additions. The expansion packs in The Sims 3 became silly in the end. We'll see how this turns up when it's released.
I don't know, the latest PC Ubisoft games uses features like horizon based ambient occlusion, percentage-closer soft shadows, temporal anti aliasing and 2160p (4K) resolution support, and some will most likely be used in The Division aswell judging from NVIDIA's marketing. While these features aren't like bread & butter, it's still better than the consoles if you have the hardware to run it... which leads me to my main issue with PC-Ubisoft: Their optimizations are terrible. If this ought to be true then it would be idiotic, but personally I would like see a smoother gameplay experience.
I've only purchased Bioshock Inifinte - Season Pass. I have not tried the three new content packs yet since I am playing through with 1999 mode on, but I noticed some new golden weapons and clothes when I loaded up the game. This is probably the only thing I would have purchased within this sale, but Thief and Dynasty Warriors 8 peeks my interests. I am a bit concerned with Dynasty Warriors though since I don't know how good of a port it is for Windows 8.1.1, nor how the controls are, I mean is it even possible to play with mouse & keyboard? Not that it's optimal for these types of games. As for Thief; I didn't hear much great things about this game so unfortunately that turns me off. Maybe updates has made the game better?
1.03.471 patch out now and guess what, it didn't do... pardon my language... fuck with the performance. I really enjoy this game, but Ubisoft seriously needs to get their shit together. As it stands now it's a hot stuttering mess. Maybe you are in for better luck than me with this update, it should be just around 50MB on Steam.
Have you updated Windows 8.1 to the Update Version, including all available compatibility updates? Usually Windows tries to install video card drivers automatically when a fresh Windows is detected which could potentially lead to driver conflicts when attempting to install them manually. While I don't necessary think this is the issue you are experiencing you can always try to use DDU (display driver uninstaller) which will completely remove your display driver. Make sure you read through the documents before using it. If nothing works I think you need to start thinking about return merchandise authorization (RMA).
