They've been mentioned already but I will also say Final Fantasy XIII, Eternal Sonata, and The World Ends With You.

Having recently read Grand Theft Childhood I'd probably recommend most ignorant folks who blabber about violence in videogames and the effects they have on us go read that before spewing nonsense. It's a very insightful book and may make them rethink what they're saying. Seems to be the most level headed research on violence in games there has been so far. Also shows a lot of history on how this isn't new citing the same outrage towards film, comic books, etc.

If you have friends to play it with, I highly recommend it. If you can get active in a guild then that also helps. Otherwise you may be better off waiting for Guild Wars 2. Simply put, the AI henchmen, and to a lesser extent the AI "heroes", are pretty useless and will only hold you back. They may get you buy in earlier missions (at least in the Prophecies campaign) but towards the end of the game they're useless.

I think that if games are to "evolve" as a medium it is perhaps necessary to have games comment on current (or probably more realistically, recent) events. Of course these games have to be crafted in a very considerate, serious manner. It would be no good to have a game that is essentially a Michael Bay movie to have a level in the middle commenting on war and terrorism in a serious manner. Basically what I'm trying to say is that games crafted for the purpose of examining tragic events and not simply for entertainment's sake (basically a serious game). Having said that, I don't know enough about Call of Juarez: The Cartel to really say one way or another if it's insensitive to the situation in Mexico but I'm going to guess that it isn't one of these games. So, no I don't think there should be boundaries that developers should be wary of as long as they approach the subject matter in a thoughtful way.

Personally, I believe the government, and people like Jack Thompson, need to stop singling out video games as sources of violent behavior. As has been mentioned, its simply a scapegoat for bad parenting. In addition, anyone who does commit serious acts of violence probably has some other problems that they need to deal with; it's not just caused by playing violent videogames.

As for having Bill Maher on our side? I could honestly care less because as the topic creator said, it probably won't make much of a difference in the violent video game law passing.

My first character will probably be a Dunmer. After that I'll probably make a Khajiit and/or a Redguard.

While I'm not going to condone a mod about school-shooting, Jack Thompson needs to just give up already. How many times does he have to fail for him to realize his crusade isn't getting him anywhere? It just makes him look like more of a fool. *sigh*

I currently have the 360 version pre-ordered. I plan on pre-ordering both PC and 360 versions. The PC version will be special edition (if there is one) and the 360 version will be regular edition.
