Producers generally shy away from mute leading men.
There is no way Hollywood would incorporate themes like Objectivism and Rational Self-Interest into a movie based on a video game. And those themes are what make the Bioshock universe so awesome.
The Fallout universe is great but the story lines are so mundane Hollywood would feel compelled to "expand" them, thereby ruining the movie as they are wont to do.
Maybe it would work as a series. That way they might be able to cover everything in the codex.
They would just cash in on "Still Alive" and murder it with a "fleshed out" plot.
It would have to be a rated R comedy. If only Sam Raimi still made good movies...
Adult themes with a cast of children? "Look Who's Talking" is the closest Hollywood has ever gotten to that. I think it's guaranteed they'd mess this one up.
As much as I'd love to see a good Steampunk movie made, I question whether it can be done.
It's sort of a mix between The Matrix and Neuromancer. It seems like a good idea but the anti-establishment themes would scare producers into making it a mix between The Matrix and a big pile of crap.
I think this one might actually have a chance if I wasn't sure they'd cast Jake Gyllenhaal as the lead.
