@nodima: I agree that solo is super fun because of how much gear can synergize with one another; honestly, this surprised me as I was uncertain as to how far Bungie was willing to go to emulate the better parts of Diablo style mechanics, but what they have come up with while sticking to the aesthetics that shooters provide (sights, mags, frames, etc.) is engaging. How about synergy between classes/subclasses though? I have very little experience in this regard; so far, each member of a fireteam operate relatively separately unless an objective or mechanic needs you to communicate and physically coordinate where your characters are in the space. Do abilities lend themselves to enhancing or offsetting weaknesses that exist in the abilities of other types of Guardians?

These types of Mega Man-esque games are always impossible for me so I voted "fine as is". Having no experience with this kind of gameplay makes it impossible for me to enjoy titles like Cuphead; I simply don't have the mindset to know what I'm doing wrong nor the fine motor control to dodge and parry with precise timing. I'm way too used to a more forgiving philosophy so getting better in that context feels like a chore. But that's fine! I'm happy there's so much more to the game than its style, and so if people who this game was made for love it, then I love that. I will watch someone else play it to soak in the art, maybe even buy a copy just to support the studio.

On this week's Bombcast, Brad made a comment about there being a difference and subsequent enjoyment in the Giantbomb crew making more a concerted effort to synergize their gear attributes and skill selections. As a noob Destiny 1/2 player making it through the campaign still, I was under the impression that nightfalls and raids (challenges of the highest difficulties) would inevitably require the kind of stat fiddling that I recognize back from my WoW days. Is this not the case? Are the raids more reliant on gimmick/obscure sequences than I thought? Is better damage output and clever combining of grenade types and gear bonuses not an obvious part of developing strategy as a result? Cause that would be a bummer...

@medacris: There's a lot of variables in your question that would determine my answer. If he's paid for the laptop and/or you're still in his care as a minor, then his word is law. Best bet is a compromise. Trying to convince him of his error in judgment about a topic he's clearly made up his mind about will only make yalls relationship worse. However, if this is a laptop you've paid for AND you're an adult and out of his care, then you don't have to comply with his demands. It sucks that you have to put up with incessant nagging about how your hobby is ruining you and your electronics, but that's life. Even family can have harsh disagreements that never get resolved. Just try to focus on the positives of yall's relationship. Good luck either way man. My mom (to a much lesser degree by the sound of it) is the same way especially now that I'm out of the house.

Welcome to both Dan and Jason! I was/am a huge fan of all yall's work at Game Informer (visited most frequently when Replays were just starting up), and it's incredible that GB now gets to benefit from the huge amount of talent you guys possess. Nothing but love for you two!

Dude, you are a fantastic writer. I've only been a fan for about a year now so this is the first time I've seen your wit applied to a written piece. Loved your picks and especially your reasoning for them. Top drawer sir!
