What I meant was, on video game sites specifically, as far as I know it was unheard of to run large chunks of unedited gameplay footage with commentary from the staff. Then after the popularity of QL's all of a sudden you've started seeing similar features pop up on other gaming websites.
Thing is, I've seen some people dismiss the GB crew as "glorified LP'rs", and given that I didn't know what LP even is till recently I was wondering if they were even a thing before QLs.

Not only LP existed long before giantbomb did it (although with different names), but the format of the modern QL is different than it was at the begining.
Look at the earlier QLs, and you will notice they were less than 10 minutes long.
And done by a single staff member, which is where the comparison with LP comes.

I'm pretty sure that that GB pioneered having extended, uncut looks at games with commentary among VG web sites, but I'm wondering if there were any significant LP'rs out there before Quick Looks were introduced.
