I think there's a lot of gray, here. You can't exactly go out and buy a SNES at Best Buy anymore, but they are abundant on eBay. I think it's great that a "new" SNES game is coming out, but it was available for so long emulated, apparently.

What if the maker of Slender: The Eight Pages decided to make a boxed copy of the game? Would that then make those who download the game after that pirates? I don't know. My gut tells me "no" because the developer needs to have enough sense to understand their game's distribution themselves.

I don't think it's as cut and dry as Kuchera makes it seem. Yes, people should be payed for their time (provided that time is worth something to someone) but the makers of the cart have to know that their game has been emulated for years. This is knowledge they absolutely had. I think Kuchera is fighting someone else's battle, even though they didn't ask him to. They probably knew this already, and the cart is for pretty small market. A collector's item, maybe.

One last comment, for everyone who is confused by people even get mad that Patrick makes these.

I think we all see Giant Bomb as a band, more than a bunch of guys. They're like a music group in spirit, really.

If, say, Slayer, put out a new album that was kick ass, super thrashy and heavy and awesome, but when added a folk ballad to the end of the record people would LOSE THEIR MINDS. It's not what they asked for or expected from Slayer. They are so invested in this band that their faces would melt. Slayer fans are particularly ravenous in my experience. When bands change focus is spells all kinds of things. Sometimes good (I think Iron Maiden's last few albums have been fucking amazing) and sometimes bad (Metallica after Justice).

Helloween did an entire album of non-metal versions of their hits. Some of the fans thought it was an abomination, and fans like myself thought it was awesome to see something different.

I'm always cautiously optimistic of changes like this. Remember that when bands make the same album 10 times in a row they become stale and nobody likes them anymore.

This is fantastic. Thanks a lot for posting it. Yes I watched all 25 minutes. I thought it was really interesting.

It's not just a woman's issue, but a human issue. As a guy I can only comment on my perspective, and I agree with the anonymous poster (who I wish I could send a thank-you card to). Even though I can't understand exactly what women feel, I can trust that they are intelligent humans and that what they feel is valid, even if I'm not seeing it. I trust scientists that the atom exists, even though I've never seen one.

Mega Man X

I've beaten it so many times, and have come close to beating the speed run record. It's the kind of game that I can play only lazily aware of what's happening. Whenever something devastating happens I actually play this. It gives my hands and the back of my head something to focus on while I go over more important things. It helps me focus, really.

I thought the NRA blamed "violent" video games? I may be wrong. Was it a blanket statement of "video games"? NRA: Practice Range looks like a non-violent game to me. It looks like a shooting range simulator. I never equated going to the range with violence, myself. I've only put shots into targets and old Magic: The Gathering cards.

They may blame television, but that doesn't include the National Geographic channel, right?

@Samael2138 that's awesome, dude. Thanks. Also, for everyone who wonder why I said to soundproof HIS door and not mine is because I thought that would be better for him. He wakes up to everything, including our other roommate coming home a 3AM. I thought it would be in his best interest, instead of blocking one source of noise to do his own door and help reduce all noise for him.

@drgrumbles: I haven't acted any way toward him. He says "keep it down" and I do. I'm just questioning whether or not it's his problem or mine. The wide majority say it's mine, and I accept that.

Don't be a dick to me for things I haven't even done yet.
