I still use my PS3 as my Bluray player, the remote is good, and I didn't want to wear out my PS4 playing discs, and it had eject issues anyway. The first major game I bought digitally was Horizon Zero Dawn, I felt dumb paying $60 when it didn't even come with a disc, it should have been cheaper, but I haven't bought any games on disc since then. I got the PS5 with disc mostly hoping that eventually they would enable using all my old discs on it, and haven't tried a 4K Bluray on it, even though I bought a remote for it (it's not a good as the PS3 remote.) I'm always worried about the disc drive conking out and killing my primary console, for some reason.

You'll meet Charles Dickens, and start out as an orphan, and find out your dad was actually an assassin. Or a templar. Actually, that's like most of the AC stories.

The gold chests are like a loyalty program, I got up to level nine right away (once it connected properly) because I'd played a bunch of AC games. What's wrong with that? If it was clearer what level you need to open them, they'd be better, but you don't fail the game if you can't open them. The blue chests let you get more stuff if you're willing to play an extra side game. Again, you lose nothing but some extra stuff if you don't play along. It would be great if you could them off on the map, and if they synced properly, though.

I suppose this is the future of the Rockafire Explosion, but you can't look up holographic skirts like you could do to Mitzi the mechanical mouse.

Movie buff usually connotes someone who watches lots of good movies, or ones that aren't necessarily as mainstream. Gamer usually applies to more mainstream games.

Patrick mentions problems that have been occuring lately in the gaming community, as he did on the AM show Friday, and once again says nothing about what the news is. I'm not sure why the news guy always seems to allude to news, without telling us what's going on. If he's our source of news, and we're not all hanging out online waiting to see what sort of new abuse is going on, we still don't know, after several visits from Patrick.

Being unable to tell the difference between the different similar colored shields is exactly what stopped me from continuing with Guacamelee. If it had been red, blue, yellow, no problem, but games always use yellow, orange, light green, ones that look really similar to me. The DLC for Bioshock 2 did a good job, adding lines to one color so you could tell the green and red apart in the hacking game, but you'd think there would be more developers and testers who couldn't see the colors as the game is being made.

Doesn't a gay couple bring sex into a game, where a straight couple doesn't? Parents don't question how they have to explain to a kid seeing a man and woman together, but a common reason I hear for not having gay couples in public is that straight parents have to explain what's going on there. I'd guess that a sexual situation involving whatever group would be treated as a sexual situation by the raters, but just having a gay couple not even having sex might be called a sexual situation in the ratings, just because it's not a common enough experience to most people right now to not bring up sex.

Surprisingly, I've probably bought more games by THQ the last couple of years than by any other company, and getting marked down earlier versions of games, like Saints Row 2 and Darksiders got me interested in getting the sequels at launch. If Rubin can get them to make even more games I want to play, I can't see how that's a problem.

The Bombcasts from PAX and E3 and such, with the room full of various developers and writers, are my favorites of the year, because we get to hear opinions on the industry from lots of people from lots of places. While most of the regular podcasts aren't really worth too much after a month or two, because the games being previewed have come out, the expo shows can be listened to for years, since they tend to discuss ongoing concerns in the industry. That seems like the place to bring this topic up again, with other writers of reviews and developers discussing what they want from reviews.
