This sounds neat. Stardew is one of the best recent indie games I've played, I'd love a neat variant on that sort of thing. Do they have plans to come to Switch?
Man Nintendo sure do get themselves in the weeds with their branding sometimes, don't they? How about New Super Mario Bros. U 2. Special pre-order bonus: Playable Bono.
I got this on PC from the kickstarter and didn't play it much, finally rebought it on Switch and have dived in. I really liked it from the start. Yeah it starts off slow and kind of confusing, but I think that aids the arc of the game. It really feels like you're some loser outsider entering this huge, terrifying place, and it makes all the upgrades feel really significant because they make such a difference in mobility and survivability. I also LOVE the mapping system. It's one of the few games I've played where it feels like you're actually exploring the world. I'm not sure how far in I am (I just got the Dream Nail), but it's becoming increasingly more open and cool. The presentation of the game is also stunning, and I'm finding the story a lot more interesting than I expected. Great game. In a lot of ways I almost feel it does the Dark Souls formula better than Dark Souls.
Mario Maker. MARIO MAKER. MARIO. MAKER. I never got a chance to play it, and it seems like a really fun fit for the Switch.
Also, not a WiiU game, but I'd love to see a Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 pack for Switch. I've been really wanting to play those again, and I don't have access to a Wii or WiiU anymore.
Even more than OoT, I read the Majora's Mask guide A LOT. That game was too arcane for me to play at the time, but I was fascinated by how strange it is. I also got two different Luigi's Mansion guides before the game came out and read through them a lot. A bit later, I'd read through guides for the Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts games because of how dense they were. I also had The Official Nintendo Player's Guide, though the NES itself was a bit before my time.
Here's a wildcard: What if this Catherine re-release takes off? Maybe it will motivate them to do something with that series after this fantasy game?
Terrible opinion incoming:
I'd be fine never having another Persona game since I liked Persona 5 too much to risk being disappointed by a sequel. Nobody else in the world feels this way and I assume that there are still people out there who are waiting for their dream Persona game the way that P5 is for me and P4 (and the other games) are for others.
I kind of agree with this for different reasons. As much as I really like Persona 3-5 (and I do!), 5 made me realize that I'm kind of satisfied with the modern Persona formula at this point. I'd play another one, but I think I'd only be super hyped if it seemed like it was really shaking things up.
ARMS for sure. The game's fun, but it really just didn't have legs (eeeey). I had fun with it, but was done with it pretty quick. I don't really feel like it was worth the price for me.
