The Thing I love about Alan Wake is not the gameplay (Although very well designed and Implemented in a way it never got stale and repetitive)..
It is the world they have created, the characters, the story, the town of Bright Falls..
A few thing's that really stuck with me are some of the story gets self referential.. such as when you get the pages of wake's Max Payne like novel The Sudden Stop and James McCaffrey (Max Payne) as the V.O., or when Wake is on the talk show and both Sam Lake and Poet's of the Fall show up.. Just Brilliant.
