I picked this up on the XBox as part of my "summer of the Robot Men". I liked the single player alright, but wanted to see if anyone wanted to get back in on the coop.
When I played P4 last year, I goofed the name bit and ended up with Tunoku Charlie as his name.
It ended up working, though, as if the other characters weren't always super into him and would only refer to him by his last name, even though he was their best friend, or true love.
It created cognitive dissonance, which is what Persona needed.
As someone who watched them as they went up, I would say give it a break for a bit, and then watch them. It's funny how differently those guys reacted or didn't react to certain things. It's also interesting to see when they miss certain mechanics or interpret things differently than Vinny and Jeff. Brad's low tolerance for the "quality" of the game is off putting to some, I'm sure.
I enjoyed both playthroughs, although mostly because I like seeing people react to crazy things.
This whole thing is awesome. The random facts are fun, but this one:
Of the 28,018 who played the 1st Mass Effect, 23.1% never completed Eden Prime (the 1st mission).
is hurtful because the achievements in that game seem somewhat glitchy. I recall coming to the site and syncing my account, and then seeing how few of the ME1 achievements I had unlocked. Even a second play-through of that game post-ME2 failed to unlock some of them (The "Play the game with this companion in your party for the majority of the time" for example).
Nothing you can account for, and it is what it is, but that may be what's up with that. I can't explain the ME2 one.
I would second the Last of the Mohicans Soundtrack. I wrote to it in college, and other than a few times that I would find odd outburts of "STAY ALIVE! I WILL FIND YOU!!" in my papers, it worked great.
I have also used some of the Ennio Morricone stuff from the Good, The Bad and The Ugly, although the main theme is a little too energetic sometimes. The majority of that film's score is slow and evocative.
If games are viable, the Bastion soundtrack also works to write to.
@Brewmaster_Andy: I was reading your post on my phone earlier today as I prepared to teach a class, and was almost giggling at some of the responses as students began to file in early and I ditched my phone.
I am a High School Social Studies teacher. Love working with young people, despite the occasional frustration, because they so often say or do something that I never expected. Had to be away from teaching for a while due to a situation out of my control and being back at it has been rewarding and fun.
I'm thinking I might have to touch base with you, Andy. I'm hopefully interviewing at a MA technical high school in the next week or so for a position, and could maybe use some input. Also, the beer looks appetizing.
