Yeah, I saw it recently. Like a week ago.
It's truly fascinating, the kind of terrible it actually is... just amazingly poor work in writing, acting, editing, pacing, you name it. Even the score is plainly ridiculous. But it's got this veneer of a production - just a hint - which seems to elevate it to a kind of level where it's numerous failings seem especially insane.
Oh, and it's got this utterly bizarre (eastern?) European guy at the center of it all, firmly anchoring the swirling shitstorm of a movie. And we're to believe that he basically made it all happen, from the funding to the script itself, while he stars as its main character.
It becomes less a film (there are plenty of "good" films that are just boring, to tell the truth) but instead a cultural artifact that just happens to share the format. So I wouldn't call myself a fan of The Room, but as something to watch I really think it works.
