Yeah, I saw it recently. Like a week ago.

It's truly fascinating, the kind of terrible it actually is... just amazingly poor work in writing, acting, editing, pacing, you name it. Even the score is plainly ridiculous. But it's got this veneer of a production - just a hint - which seems to elevate it to a kind of level where it's numerous failings seem especially insane.

Oh, and it's got this utterly bizarre (eastern?) European guy at the center of it all, firmly anchoring the swirling shitstorm of a movie. And we're to believe that he basically made it all happen, from the funding to the script itself, while he stars as its main character.

It becomes less a film (there are plenty of "good" films that are just boring, to tell the truth) but instead a cultural artifact that just happens to share the format. So I wouldn't call myself a fan of The Room, but as something to watch I really think it works.

I really ought to see The Disaster Artist

Ok. I'm liking it some more now, after practicing a bit and really picking a weapon to focus on. I still think it controls kind of badly but there's a lot going for it elsewhere

Driving a warhead spike thing (?) into a lizard's face with the gunlance and watching it erupt into a chain of secondary explosions is just not getting old

I'm curious what graphics settings people chose. I went with framerate initially and tested with high graphical quality today, with a PS4 pro on a 1080p (non-HDR) screen. Couldn't really tell the difference so I switched back to get some frames.

I came away from the beta with pretty mixed impressions, it's been a long time since I played Monster Hunter though (Tri on the Wii). Is there really no way to strafe around a target?

Might give it another chance tomorrow, we'll see

I think a mortar (60mm solo, maybe 81mm as a crew) would be pretty cool, only situationally useful but a great way to flush out a known camp site.

Also think medium machine guns like the FN MAG or M60 are such a legendary weapons, they deserve to be in pretty much any game ever

Keep in mind I do not play PUBG, instead I find myself watching it surprisingly often (this site and elsewhere). I just see the same tactics over and over again and hope for new tools to mix it up, a lot if possible

The story is functional if a little uninspired up until the end of the game.

Then the last act starts unfolding and it's just a hodgepodge of newly introduced characters/plots which are shoehorned into the standard vengeance narrative. It feels lazy and then...

When the very final scene plays out, and Julius Caesar is just straight-up murdered by Aya, the moment feels strangely absent of impact. It happens as a character you were never really playing as, in a part of the world you never really explored or cared about as Bayek. The game focuses so little on Roman politics or perspectives that it seems tacked-on compared to the rest of the game, which sucks because this is THE CLIMAX the whole story was building towards. It took an incredible moment and dulled it down to pure sequel bait.

Luckily the game really didn't need a strong story in the first place - just a strong setting, which it has in spades.

XIV is essentially what I imagine most people want from Final Fantasy in terms of setting, art, features, etc... it's just in the wrong genre. Also, it requires a monthly subscription.

It's even got a pretty complete and fairly robust story, even if it is ongoing. That said, there's a tad much filler for it to be truly stellar.

Despite all this, I still think it's the best "Final Fantasy" (whatever that means anymore?) since 12. Something about 13 and 15 has really rubbed me the wrong way, which has doubtless been discussed above.

I'm not sure how tradition or consistency relates to this series anymore; it feels like they've collectively said "fuck it" enough that neither are coming back to the main games again.

I haven't liked AC in a very long time (Brotherhood) and I am stunned when I say this, but... this game is probably my GOTY

Really liked it a longtime Punisher fan, and also from the perspective of a combat vet. The interplay between Frank/Micro and their situations was really good, want to see it develop more in the future.

Agree with others who said the action's inconsistent, definitely the biggest thing they need to work on for a season 2 - as good as this show is, at times it really drags.

John Bernthal just kills it though, can't say enough good things about his role here. I actually think this is better than Daredevil Season 1, any other Marvel show even

I thought for sure MH would be making money - the movies, merchandise, and tie-ins all seem popular still

Played back when Brevik was running the show. Things seemed really positive back then, enjoyed the time I put into it. Even gave them money - not much, but it felt worth investing in even a small way.

Seems morbid at this point, but I really, really want to know exactly what happened between then (a few years at most) and now for this to end up as it had.

Leadership must be a big part of it, but there's gotta be a lot more which may never come out. Sucks for everyone either way
