I think they haven't decided the final specs yet and even when they do they won't tell us what they are.

The specs are final and are on e3.nintendo.com. The only thing not final is the design and quality of the buttons and plastic in the controller and whether or not the SDK will support multiple WiiU controllers.

No memory, GPU or CPU specs, so really, not proper specs.

But the specs are final, they just chose not to release any numbers because its proprietary and can only theoretically be compared to other systems.

But my point is all they've said is "it has a multi-core CPU" which means basically nothing at this point. All they've basically said is "yes, this machine has functioning components" which to me is not the same as releasing specs. Sure, the numbers don't really mean anything without software, but the point is that right now there is no point for comparison.

I remember the old 3D Realms soundbites about how making great games takes a long time. It's probably disheartening for everyone who worked on that game prior to the Gearbox hand-off that it turns out that simply taking a long time doesn't necessarily make great games... There must be people who worked on Duke for five years and it must be hard for them not to look back on that now as a waste of time.

But people who are reviewing this game can't just throw their hands up and say "you know what, a lot of people worked on this game, it's okay I guess?" They need to review it by today's standards - and it seems that by today's standards it has fundamental design issues.

@KaosAngel: For mobile sure, but I'm talking about the actual build-cost of each unit.

I like Sony's game here. They will lose a ton of money on this thing out the gate, but that price might be enough to take a bite out of Apple.

I am intrigued by this touch idea, but more intrigued by the reports that there's an actual control wrapped around the touch screen. That seems crazy, like the old GC ASCII pad.

On Monday I start working at a train station and it's all thanks to the NDX, my greatest inspiration in life. I don't think this train comes to Glasgow Central unfortunately, otherwise I  would be there, making sure everyone's got their tickets before they get on board.

I could have sworn Turtle Rock was acquired by Valve and that was that. Apparently I missed the part where they reformed as a separate studio.

I think by first access, they mean people who pre-order get the demo first, then once it's out, everyone else gets it. Right? Surely...
