My favorite sports players/teams

I'm a very big sports fan. I like it more then video games. I'm not the best playing them, but being a fan doesn't require skill thank god. I've been told by my friends that I know a crap load of info about sports, which I guess you could say I'm proud of. So I decided to make a list of all of my favorite teams and the players who play that sport. This is a list of my favorite sports, that's why some are missing like Basketball and Hockey.

Baseball

Baseball is by far one of my favorite sports, other then bowing but I'll talk about later. I've liked this sport ever since my grandpa got into it when I was about 5. He liked the Yankees and I was pretty much forced to like them. When he died in 2000 I kept cheering for them basically just because my grandpa did and I felt that I should keep doing that for him. I have since changed my favorite team here it is.

Pittsburgh Pirates

The Pittsburgh Pirates are by far my favorite sports team. I can't really explain why I like them so much. I used to be able to name every

starter on the team, but they keep trading everyone so that's pretty hard. I've been a fan of theirs for years, I think it was a couple of years ago when I went to a Indianapolis Indians game (the Indians are the Pirates AAA team) is when I started liking them a whole lot. I got to see some of their young stars and that was cool. I don't care about the fact they haven't won anything in 15 years or something. They are my favorite team and I will cheer for them no matter what. Also I asked for tickets to a Pirates game at PNC Park for my graduation present. I'm hoping that happens.

Zach Duke/Brandon Inge

When it comes to players I'm a fan of the no name small role players, because to me they are what is great about the sports. They don't hold out for big money, they play with more passion and determination then big named stars. So that's why my two favorite players (I picked a pitcher and hitter to make it even) are Zach Duke (All-Star pitcher, Pittsburgh Pirates) and Brandon Inge (All-Star third basemen, Detroit Tigers). The Tigers are my second favorite team, and to me I've always been a fan of Inge. He's not

cocky, plays with a ton of heart and is a great fielder. Duke I picked because I have been following him since he was with the Indianapolis Indians. He's been struggling since his great rookie year, but I'm still cheering for him.

Bowling

If you know me you know this was coming. I'm a huge fan of bowling, I guess you could say it's my life. I've talked enough about bowling that'll just go onto my favorite bowler(s).

Tommy Jones/Michael Fagan

Fagan
Fagan
No that's not Tommy Jones the actor, it's Tommy Jones the bowler with the highest TV winning percentage ever in the history of the PBA and future Hall of Famer. Tommy and Michael are my two idols

in bowling. I look up to them very much. I want to be like them when I bowl. I've taken bits and pieces of their style and tried to put that into my form, though it's not nearly as good. But Michael might not be as big as a player as Tommy, I like his personality and style. I'm really hoping that both of them do great in the upcoming bowling season.

Football

I'm not talking about European Football, but the American Football. I would like to do a section on European Football since I'm a fan of it, but I don't know enough about it to really do a favorite team and player thing. But back on subject, if I had to pick my favorite sports, football would probably be fifth. I just don't think it's the greatest sport ever like most people think of it, but I do watch it and here are my favorite team and player(s).

Philadelphia Eagles

Eagles!
Eagles!
I am a die hard Eagles fan. I've been a Eagle fan for as long as I can remember. I have received so my crap for that. I live in Indiana, so I have a crap load of Colts fans telling me the Eagles suck and Colts are awesome. I don't see it, why can't I like a team different then theres? Yeah the Eagles haven't won anything like the Colts have, but over the last 10 years the Eagles have been just at consistent as them. But that little rant is besides the point of this blog. I like them, they are a great organization with great players and coaches. I'll be rutting for them hard this year.

Donovan McNabb

Yes, my favorite football player is on my favorite team, that seems to happen a lot. But I am a big fan of his, he just seems like a great

guy to be around. I wish he didn't so much crap from other fans, at least I hear crap about him. Yes he gets hurt a lot, but look at what he does when he's healthy, a crap load of NFC Championship games and a Super Bowl bids. Yeah he hasn't won anything, but so what. Dan Marino didn't win a single Super Bowl. It's not all about the championships, but it's more about passion and skill. McNabb has that.

Golf

I enjoy the hell out of golf. I think it's probably one of the most mental sports you can play. Though I can't play golf to save my life, I still enjoy it. I like how the announcers are oh so quiet and crowds go fucking nuts, also the pay  checks are insanely high. Here is my favorite player.

Ryan Moore

I wouldn't surprises me if most of you that Tiger Woods was going to be that player, but oh no, it was the unknown Ryan Moore. If you read my last blog (which you can find under this one on my profile) I talked about Ryan Moore and his first ever win which came on Sunday. He was one of the most hyped amateurs in some time and has been in the PGA for about four years. He doesn't kill the ball, but he makes up for it with his putter, he ranks in the top five in putts 15' and in. He's a great player who really plays golf old fashioned. He doesn't have any sponsors and uses clubs that are not high performance, but he gets the job done. I'll be following him for a long time.
