Verstappen has been boring to watch, honestly. Those Red Bull cars are just too fast once their out front, as long he placed for pole or near the front he'd sprint up and then the race would be effectively over. Singapore was at least vaguely interesting and Verstappen was really struggling there, but Perez did the "get into first and then nothing happens" so the battle for first was just settled the whole time, it's disappointing.

I don't know what Ferrari does next season to challenge, the cars are one thing but Leclerc seems to be missing something, he doesn't seem gutsy enough to me to push it. Hopefully a stronger showing from Mercedes can make things more interesting or maybe those new financial rules can nerf RB a little.

Hard to recommend things without really knowing you or your taste in games, but I would suggest you cash in the Game Pass offer that's bundled with a new XBox and just go to town. There's a ton of good options and they won't cost you any extra cash.

Been watching Jess since the old Something Awful days, I was super happy for her when she got the job and it's clear it means so much to her. Her and Chip Cheezum rule, been a huge fan since the Retsupurae days. GB is super lucky to have her, and I'm glad her fan base is growing!

And Jan? Well, what else can I add that everyone else hasn't already said? Dude rules.

I thoroughly enjoyed The Goblin Emperor by Katherine Addison. It's about a young emperor learning to navigate a difficult transition from being on the fringes of the royal family to being in the center of the spotlight. It's heart warming and fun, there's intrigue, and it's also not all about some world ending evil or any cliche like that.

The Lies of Locke Lamora is the first book in a trilogy about a thief and con artist in fantasy Venice getting wrapped up in a wild assassination plot and a revenge quest. It's fun, dirty, and almost feels like an action adventure movie. I haven't read the third book yet, but the first two are really good.

Lastly, The Lions of Al-Rassan by Guy Gavriel Kay is set in fantasy medieval Spain. It's set during a time of political turmoil and features a cast of characters coming together to deal with a war brewing, the lead character is a doctor trying to navigate between the different factions and making unlikely friends along the way.

These are all fantasy but I mostly read older Science Fiction.

Voidburger rules, been watching her content for years (started around the time she was a guest on some other YouTube channel that used to be a thing).

Excited for her, she seemed nervous about trying out long form video essays a little while ago and now here she is! Great creator, excited to see what she creates!

I enjoy an hbomberguy video when they occasionally come out. Also a fan of Super Bunny Hop.

You should check out Summoning Salt if you're interested in speed runs at all. He covers the development of world records and the tricks that changed the way runs are done. He's got plenty of game specific histories so if you're not interested in one you might enjoy another.

Lazy Game Reviews (LGR) is also really cool. He collects a bunch of old tech and computers and shows them off including rare old sound cards. He just did a video where he use rewrite-able tape to play a game on a Windows 95 rig and it was pretty neat.

Finally, Joel Haver is pretty fun if you want to have a laugh. Both his animations and sketches.

I will not entertain the argument that Chocobos aren't vehicles.

I'd nominate both Dragon Quest 4 and 5. The stories aren't revolutionary, they're both "big bad demon trying to resurrect and take over the world" starring silent protags but I think they're both good journeys.

DQ4 has you play through a prologue chapter for each of your party members up to the point they join the hero, then it all comes together and you begin the quest to stop the evil demon.

DQ5 features several generations of the main character's family questing to find the hero that is supposed to save the world (spoiler, it's not you) and then going off to face the ultimate evil.

They're just great little stories with cool moments along the way but I could gush about them all day so I'll leave it at that.

@whitestripes09: That's unfortunate, I really enjoy Demon Slayer! I don't mind the characters though, huge fan of Inosuke and Tanjiro. Plus the action scenes are always real fun. (Out of curiosity are you watching the sub or the dub? I don't want to turn it into "the argument" but I tried to watch the dub recently and it's... not great imo hahaha!)

In terms of the topic of the thread, my anime I keep watching for some reason has been mentioned a few times: Attack on Titan. New season started with some cool action but very quickly turned into a bunch of people standing around talking again. Plus all the other things that others have already listed.
