" you guys are acting like the only people that are commuting crimes in this country are illegal immigrants fact is the majority of them are by people that are here legally oh, damn....did i just prove you wrong? ya i did!!! "
O Damn, logical fallacy? YES! The fact that the majority of crimes in this country, or even in Arizona are not committed by illegal immigrants doesn't mean that it wouldn't be beneficial to our crime rates to get rid of those illegal immigrants.

" @GIVEMEREPLAY: the more the merrier.   i consume plenty of fruit from companies that use illegal workers and enjoy comfortable hotel rooms cleaned by the undocumented.  "
Those aren't really "consumer goods" though. If you want to talk about tube socks, tvs, ipods, toys, phones, etc, talk to China. In any case, the "more the merrier" attitude works just fine provided you can keep crime as low as it would be without those illegals, and can prevent them from using public services, which you can't.

" The Arizona illegal immigration bill strictly prohibits racial profiling. Besides, nothing in the Arizona law contradicts the federal law. The federal government has failed to do their job of securing the U.S.-Mexican border, so the good sovereign state of Arizona is using their states' rights to enforce the law. Go Arizona! You have my full support!  And shame on those who boycott you. "
Christ would be proud of you.  Seriously though- piss off you bible thumping twat. "
I don't see a single religious reference in his statement. Why are you presuming that he is a Bible thumper? His icon? Quite presumptuous, especially for someone railing against profiling.

" I enjoy affordable consumer products way too much to be against illegal immigration.      I completely understand why AZ would pass the bill,l but it seems like the people most hurt by it will be the average day laborer instead of the ones committing the crimes people actually give a shit about like drug dealing, kidnapping, murder, etc.  Have to wait and see how it pans out I guess.  "
Then you're in favor of free trade with China, not illegal labor.

" All i see is people complaining about "how bad arizona is in this mexican drug ring". You visit states that border cities like Nuevo Laredo, Cuidad Juarez, and even Reynosa, thats where the problem is so bad the army has to be at the border...  Now that i think about it, NONE of those areas are in Arizona. They are in Texas. MY home state, and on MY side of the valley.  So yeah, Arizona... I'm calling your bluff. "
So how about Texans try to fix the problem, too?

" @Red: Not a clue, I don't hang out behind "gas stations". So you are totally fine about racial profiling, I take it? Respect for the fact that you actually recognize the intended use to which this law will be put though. "
There are things illegal aliens do which other people generally don't. Like hanging around in the back of a pickup outside a Home Depot obviously soliciting illegal work. The fact that they are brown doesn't have to be used (and shouldn't be, and further won't be permitted by the courts) to make this law work.

You're both right. There is something to be said for independent analysis, and something to be said for actually living in the situation at hand.

A bunch of dumb bullshit.
You really can't understand that the people who jump the border to work in the USA are NOT the same people who commit robberies and kidnappings and whatever, can you? You are hopeless. "
By what magic are all of the people who perpetrate crime in Mexico being left behind while only the needy, harmless hard workers are moving on to find a new life? How do you explain the kidnappings, murders, drugs and drug violence that the open border has brought Arizona? Quit watching Bread and Roses and start thinking a bit harder about the reality of the situation.  "
Oh my god. They are TWO DIFFERENT GROUPS. THE LAW AFFECTS THE WRONG GROUP. "
Once again, illegals who commit or intend to commit crime are coming over as well. This is the reality of the situation.

" if after passing the new law banning "ethnic" studies from public schools as well in Arizona you still think this new law was not meant to racially profile I got no idea where your brain is.   2 major laws passed one after the other targeting one ethnicity in particular, I do not know but it seems kinda of obvious to anyone with a brain as to what is going on. "

Where in the law does it target one ethnicity in particular? Once again I care not a whit about the intentions of the people who wrote it, but rather the effect that the actual law will have.

Is it really that hard to understand that you are labeling a WHOLE COUNTRY as violent and prone to violence just because of your dumb, uninformed opinion? That would be like saying all americans are dumb, fat, gun toting freaks. After all america does have the highest rate of gun violence and obesity in the developed world.

Once again, as disturbing as this might be, Mexicans are the ones who (largely) perpetrate crime in Mexico. It's racist, I know. Reality is racist sometimes. Given that Mexico has incredibly high rates of crime, the fact that Mexicans are sneaking across the border (breaking the law in that act alone) and to break further laws (kidnapping, participating in the human trade, drug running, gangland violence, robberies,  working without the right to do so, etc) one would reasonably conclude that  those illegal Mexican immigrants would also significantly effect the rates of crime in the area that they are going to.

Not, as you might believe, those "violent" mexican farmhands. I doubt I need to explain that this law targets the latter instead of the former, as well as everyone who looks hispanic even if they are legal citizens of the USA. I would also like to tell you to quit your bullshit about bleeding hearts when you are trying to leave whiny comments in my profile's wall instead of addressing them here. "

Please point out the part of the bill that directs officers to harass farm hands or brown people specifically. I'd love to see it. It would be great if this issue was just that simple. If it doesn't have such language, then it's your own feelings projecting on the bill rather than the bill itself that is the problem.

As for Phoenix, did you know that most if not all of those kidnappings are actually perpetrated by and target people involved in the drug and human trade?

Oh, well in that case it's not a problem at all. Continue on with your lives while kidnappings and a drug/human trade goes on around you, Arizonians.

Just the fact that you insinuate that illegal immigrants are kidnappers just because of being mexican tells me how much of an ignorant bigot you are. I 'm sorry it hurts when your beliefs are exposed as racist but I'm not going to change my rhetoric just to accomodate someone who doesn't like being called a racist.  I'm guess that's fault of your worldview though, mercilessly exploiting people and then crying foul against them because they are different, "

Indeed, how silly of me to insinuate that Mexican crime is perpetrated by Mexican citizens.  "
Because kidnapping is exclusively mexican and that's all mexicans do. Do you have any other enlightening factoids you can tell me? Perhaps something about mexicans wearing sombreros or maybe black people eating watermelon or asians being good at maths. "
The concept is that people crossing a border illegally (often using highly violent and horrid means like coyotes) coming from an extremely violent country rife with kidnappings will likely bring some of that violence with them. Being that Phoenix is the kidnapping capital of the U.S. (and for numerous other reasons) this seems to be true.

Can you cut the bleeding heart and straw man antics and spend just a few moments considering what you're going to say before spewing it out?
