Damn Dave, this is why we love you 
People are overly defensive of Mass Effect 2, or any game they like in general 
This is also what I love about Giantbomb, you guys back everything up with lots of reasoning, so even if people disagree they have to respect your opinion

I have many different playthroughs, on a majority of them I blew it to hell 
Reasoning is this- the collector's ship might have some sort of indoctrination thingy which would probably screw a lot of people over 
2nd, even if it's used to repel the reapers, the Illusive Man stated that it would be used for stopping the Reapers and beyond. 
The beyond part obviously means that after the Reapers are destroyed the Illusive Man is probably going to use the technology from the ship to take over the galaxy. 
So I chose to blow it up most times
