I got this add too when I cleared my cookies and had to log in again. The greatest part is that it actually got stuck on the last frame, which was a giant explosion and would not let me click anything on the screen. Nothing, this Giant Bomb site experience was just a giant explosion on the screen.

So this awesome ad, which completely filled my screen (I was on a tablet to be fair), thus ACTIVELY KEPT ME FROM USING THE SITE.

Awesome. It's almost worst than that Meebo bar thing.

@huser:

Was it Funny Games? That movie actually rewinds when one of the invaders is shot by one of the children and then makes the kid get shot instead. That movie was....messed up.

The Giant Bomb staff said that they don't actually have a PC in the new office yet, so that can't do any PC Quick Looks or reviews. I haven't heard anything new on the matter, Will and Norm aren't there to build them a new PC!

There's a frailness to the original James' voice that really made him feel disturbed and utterly filled with guilt about what was going on.

I mean, the guy murdered his wife and is being punished for it

The new voice actor feels much younger, much less broken than the original. I think that could really take away from the feeling of James being torn apart by something inside of him that we don't initially know anything about and instead make it just seem like a normal guy thrown into a scary situation.

I mean, look at the opening shot of the game (the screenshot from the top of the article)...that guy is meant to be completely drained.

Meh, he did somethings right, some wrong, but meh. Other "visionaries" will come.

Wow, real compassionate of you.

When I saw it, it really made me feel really indifferent.

"Like" buttons are fine, but do I really need to see pictures of 10 random people I most likely don't know or care anything about to know that Giant Bomb or any of the WM sites have facebook pages? I really don't think so. I HAVE ALWAYS HATED FACEBOOK WIDGETS ON WEBSITES, THEY LOOK HORRENDOUS!

If the widget is has to be at the top, then remove the pictures of everyone, they break the aesthetic of the site and make me feel....weird, I don't want to feel weird when I come to WM sites.

If the widget has to have the pictures of everyone, that crap needs to be smacked down to the bottom of the column, especially below status updates of PEOPLE I ACTUALLY WANT TO HEAR FROM.

Dave, I know you did everything you could to make the widgets fit the aesthetics of each site, but I really feel like this is something that you should axe, pulling content from external sources without being able to format everything single thing in it to fit with the site design (ala the "overheard" stuff on other WM sites) just feels really...wrong. Please don't make me look at Facebook everywhere I go, especially on sites that I pay for.

" Some responses completely shocked me.  Zune?  That thing still exists?  o_O  The question was not  "what software to use when you're brain damaged?" -- the question was rather "what to use when you're a geek?"  Converting your record and CD collection to OGGs or FLACs would be pretty geeky...  I'd say go with anything that plays the FLAC format. "
I agree that if you really want to get serious about it, you need to go with something that will play FLAC. But after saying that, I respond that I also use the Zune software. I think it's wonderful (though it's been pretty terrible in the past), the Metro UI it uses is one of the sleekest, most user friendly UIs I've ever seen. It's also a more heavyweight program, though not near as bloated as iTunes (for Windows, at least). The thing is that you have to have a Zune if you want to use it to sync media to your device (duh). So, I would think that iPhones and iPods are the same, can't you only sync them with iTunes?

@ajamafalous:  If you're able to keep 130 tabs open and still be able to keep track of everything, maintain system stability, and talk like a sane person, more power to you. BUT, I do know that there are much easier and much more sensible ways to go about the issue. Cue Evernote, a free service which will let you 'clip' web pages and keep their titles and screenshots in a list so that you can look at them later. I use it and it works great. There's even a Chrome extension so that you can access everything without needing to go to the evernote site. There may be a firefox add-on as well, but I would still suggest trying Chrome, I am a firefox convert myself.

Yeah, I can see that. It's been a while since I've read it but I do remember the TV walls becoming everyone's reality. Luckily, I don't think Deadly Premonition is going to be able to have that kind of effect on society...or will it?
