Finished this over the weekend. The gameplay got a bit tiresome towards the end, but still remained enjoyable for most of the 10 hours it took me to finish it, even if it really is just combat arena after arena, with a few boring puzzles thrown into the mix.
The story and characters almost feel like a parody for how close they are to also having being pulled from a game from around 2008-2010. Luckily the voice acting is at least tolerable, so the game doesn’t suffer from someone shrieking at you with a grating voice (the scientist guy could’ve almost ticked that box).
I wish a video game trailer could get such an emotional response out of me as it did with Jess (excluding the disappointment, preferably). Maybe if Half-Life 3 just suddenly got one out of the blue, that somehow wouldn’t leak before it’s shown.
I've seen this played before several times, but I don't think I have ever seen any of the cutscenes or at least this many of them and holy shit these are terrible. The mishmash of realistic looking characters with a kinda serious seeming story and cartoony Sonic is just...quite something.
One of those weird coincidences again, that I just watched an episode of Seinfield a day before listening to this, where Kramer has a whole rant about racism against dentists. Also didn’t know the actor blew his career with that crap.
Holy shit, the repeating music was really drilling itself into my brain. Thank god that was just during the Tournament endings.
Also I hope you'll just do a quick ranking of all the intros too, even if 5's opening might already be the winner. Three's opening just wins for me with the strength of nostalgia alone.
