Socom is complete garbage.  K2 has great multiplayer (the multiplayer is much more tactical than Halo---not necessarily better, just more tactical).  You're not going to find a PS3 version of Halo (Halo is Halo after all).

Three quick points and then I agree, we should all be done with this:

1. Per Major Nelson, an update hit today to fix the types of issues I've been having with LIVE since the NXE update
2. It's a shame that more users aren't able to have a healthy debate or discussion without resorting to name calling
3.  I fully agree that LIVE has more features; I was just annoyed I kept getting kicked out

If this isn't forced, desperate DLC I'm not sure what is.  I'd much rather see them focus on the sequel than pay any money for what is described above.

It's never something to celebrate when games are cancelled and dev's die, but the 3 games mentioned above don't exactly scream "AAA Title" at me.  I think 2009 might even be better than 2008 ('08 had a slew of dissapointments).  I would actually much rather have a few  games of  really high quality each year (and have the releases spaced out throughout the year) than tons of mediocre titles.

Really?  When has PSN been down for you other than scheduled maintenance time

Okay, last night marked the 3rd time in the last few weeks the Xbox live has had issues. Then I check my gamertag today (which isn't there), shoot over to Major Nelson's website and, low and behold "the team is aware of the issues." Major, you seem like a pretty good guy, and by all accounts you are, but if I see that quote one more time in 2008 I'm going to send my fist through my computer screen.

I love the NXE, everything about it is better than that clunky god-awful blade setup, and I really like my 360 for the most part. Yet, Live is supposed to be the main reason for owning a 360. It's supposed to be the creme de la creme of console online. Than why is it that I'm paying $50/year for this service that is down on a consistent basis? Because my friends are too stubborn to see the light and buy PS3's, that's why.

Yep, that's right, PSN is working just fine. In fact, PSN is NEVER down: certain game servers have issues now and then (see last months Socom and LittleBigPlanet's releases), but PSN as a whole is only ever down for maintenance. This is where Sony's online service method is superior than Microsofts: it's already catching up in functionality, it's free, and a helluva lot more reliable.

Both systems have there positives and negatives.  Here are some of them (IMO):

360 Positives: XBox Live (best online console service), several awesome shooters, very good 3rd party support, Achievement Points
360 Negatives: RROD's (everyone I know has had atleast one, some up to 4 times), 30% reported overall failure rate, controller sucks for anything other than FPS or racing games, clunky Marketplace interface

PS3 Positives: Free online gaming w/ PSN, best overall controller, most 1st party titles (Nintendo arguably has the best), 3% reported failure rate, very intuitive and streamlined OS (XMB)
Negatives: not as many quality FPS games, very limited online service, more expensive console, harder to develop for

So what's the deal?  It seems most gamers are way to into the 360 and hate too much on the PS3.  What's up with that?
