The only thing Persona 5 should have won hands down was Best Style. Nothing else comes close this year. It's unfortunate, but art and art direction isn't something that can be reliably argued for or against. You either see it one way or you don't.

I mentioned it in the article, but I figure I should mention here that I was with Jeff on the Best World confusion. I imagined Best World to consist of the environment and lore that the game creates. The mechanical interactions that the player has in the game should have ZERO effect in the category.

In my mind I can't decide if Persona 5 or NieR: Automata has the best soundtrack, but they easily take the 1 and 2 spots this year. Nothing else comes close. I've been playing the Persona 5 soundtrack all year while at work and I've incorporated the NieR: Automata soundtrack since I started playing the game last month.

The amazing part of the music discussion is that some of the songs that the crew selected as their favorites aren't even my favorite songs for those games. Persona 5 has the obvious Life Will Change and Last Surprise, but Blooming Villain is also really good. My personal favorite for NieR is easily Bipolar Nighmare with Kainé Salvation probably being the only song I've ever described as "sad and beautiful" in my entire life.

The $5 at my Taco Bell is not the same as the thumbnail, but it's good. The $5 box at Church's Chicken is also pretty great.

I may have just cracked 5 games this year. Most of them very long games though.

Currently watching the video and saw Dan's long jump, hat throw, dive combo and was surprised he didn't extend it. As far as I know you can do it twice so the longest distance achieved would be via long jump, hat throw, dive and bounce off hat, throw hat again, and dive again.
