  • Mass Effect 2 did the same thing Mass Effect did to me, making my jaw go agape with the scope and complexity of the science fiction world created. The depth to which characters and environments are crafted made me scour every inch of the game, and I loved every second of it.

  • I normally don't enjoy a milieu that features deserts almost exclusively. Luckily, I gave Red Dead a chance, and found that the environment was as varied and interesting as I hoped it could be. The game play isn't perfect, but it's demure enough that I could get into the world and really enjoy the experience.

  • So glad I gave this game a chance after my frustration with Assassin's Creed 2 overcame my drive to beat it. This game had many of the same frustrations, but the high points of nailing the controls overshadows any low points of jumping somewhere I shouldn't.

  • If you have anyone to compete against, even one person, you must buy this game. Pure joy in every orifice.

  • The Game of the Year Edition came out in 2010! It counts!

Good god was this game fun, and it's insanely impressive how they actually created an experience that had character, in an environment that initially seems full of sand and boring.

  • Continuing the quality of storytelling from past Layton games, with an even better artistic style, and much improved puzzle collections, Unwound Future was an experience that was hard to put down. Very hard. I beat it in 3 days.

  • Well, there's not much that can be said about this. I got more than my money's worth, and played with friends quite a bit. Had tons of fun.

  • Not strictly a game, but I'll be damned if this game didn't give me an awesome experience in creativity that other games rarely do.

  • Strictly speaking, I couldn't finish this due to a glitch in the game that caused it to load endlessly, but what I did play was quite amazing, and this game deserves to be on the list.

  • Still working on this game, but I can honestly say it is one of the best experiences I had this year. The tension this game extracted from me was palpable and forced me to take breaks, while the story kept pushing me to continue onto the next episode.
