Let's say you were a devoted gamer throughout the 90's; a well-read and informed consumer that was passionate about gaming in all of its forms.  You made it through every ending in Chrono Trigger.  You collected 120 stars in Mario 64 with ease.  You made it through all four discs of Final Fantasy VII in record time.  You bought a 3DO and a Virtual Boy.  (OK, mistakes were made).
 
Then you fell asleep for ten years.
 
The year is 2010 and you awaken from your deep slumber.   Completely out of touch with a new generation of consoles and games. Sega no longer exists, Microsoft is the underdog, and there are virtual communities as powerful as small countries.
