Hey guys,

I was wondering if I could ask a huge favour of the community. I've been a subscriber since 2011, however, I've been unemployed and unable to find work for the past 4 months (I moved to Switzerland to be closer to my family and explore my heritage.)

I was wondering if anyone has a few spare bucks laying around and would feel like helping an unemployed bum out and save my subscription before it runs out in 10 days.

The Giant Bomb team has been a huge part of my life for the last decade plus.

Also, if you live in Switzerland, hit me up! Also, if you have a job available, hit me up!

Hey all, long time GB member here. I haven't posted much to the forums over the years, but the few interactions I've had with the community have been great.

I'm moving from Canada to Switzerland at the end of the month (with a few day stay over in Paris)

I was wondering if any GB duders want to meet up? I'm nervous about making new friends and getting into some new gaming communities. If anyone in particular lives in the Solothurn area or knows of any gaming\roleplaying groups there, that would be extra helpful!

Thanks and i look forward to meeting a whole new group of cool people!

@rasrimra: The Dutch were one of my favourite civs in Civ V. Those polders were absolutely insane in the right circumstances!

@physicalscience: Most of the city-states seem to be major cities in countries that don't get to be proper civs. Budapest, Sidon, etc... Maybe one day... although I did think it was cool the Iroquois in Civ V had a city named "Lake Simcoe" which was the lake in Southern Ontario I grew up on (I now live in Manitoba, however)

@dstopia: So it seems to be 1UPT with some notable exceptions:

Civilian units: You can protect and even link up civilian units like Great People, Settlers, Builders. Civilians cannot stack on the same tile however.

Support Units: Battering Rams have been the only unit of this type I've seen (but I've heard of medics) You can link support units to other units. The battering ram allows melee units to attack city walls and actually do some sizable damage, otherwise you are doing a severly reduced amount of damage

Armys/Corps/Fleets: It seems you can combine several of the same types of units into a "corp/army" once you research the appropriate technology. It doesn't add the full power of each unit together but it has been described as "boosting the unit to the power of the next tech upgrade up) for example, they added two infantry corp together and it increased their strength from 70 to 80 instead of from 70 to 140. You can straight up build a corp version of a unit or you can later combine the two units manually (I don't know if you can separate them later)

@alavapenguin: yeah that extra tile ability seems like it would be especially powerful in Civ VI with all that extra emphasis on developing the land around you

@soberdude: Elizabeth, Shaka, Julius Caesar, Montezuma II (Montezuma the first leads Aztec this time), and Genghis had been in all the other games but do not return (so far) to Civ VI. At this point Gandhi is the last surviving original Civ leader

@cagliostro88: Gandhi is the only returning leader from Civ V, weirdly enough!

@ninjalegend: One day they will hopefully have a Canada Civ... When I want to play Canada, I either download a mediocre mod or just choose Russia and play pretend, haha
