I have something to add, but I won't give specific examples because I don't know how far along you are in the game.

Losing can be massively important to your individual/personal story in Pyre. During my playthrough, I deliberately threw two matches in service of my role play. Depending on who you have on your team, who you are facing, and when you are facing them, you and your character might have interests beyond just winning the match. Pyre is probably the first game I've ever played where losing can be more satisfying and relieving than winning.

Spacebase DF-9 is one of the reasons I don't like early access as a consumer. You have to bet that there are enough people like you out there who are willing to risk their money on the same game. On top of that, you have to bet that external factors won't disrupt the development of the game you supported. Spacebase didn't just get cancelled because it failed to sell enough in early access. Around that same time, Double Fine had an unannounced game cancelled and went through a round of layoffs. They didn't have the financial stability to continue supporting Spacebase in the hopes that it would attract a larger audience later on. These are details that we can piece together after the fact, but that are not made clear to us at the moment when we are deciding whether or not to make a purchase.

@humanity I don't think that Aloy is so much smarter than everyone else because she is a clone. Rather, it's because she found her focus at such a young age. Aloy is one of the only literate people in the game, and through the focus she perceives the world differently than everyone else. She isn't superstitious because the focus gives her the ability to analyze and investigate the things she doesn't understand. To be fair, the Shadow Carja also had access to focuses, but I doubt they had access to anything HADES didn't want them to see.

I'm running it on: i5-4690, R9 280X, 8 GB RAM, Windows 8.1. I'm using the Crimson Edition 15.11.1 beta driver. The outbound connection is blocked and the game is installed on an SSD. I've played it for about two hours.

At 1080p, I'm getting anywhere between 32-60 fps. Bumping down graphical settings raises the average fps slightly, but the frame rate is so erratic that it doesn't really matter. Any time things get crazy on screen, the frame rate takes a huge dive into the low thirties.

I experienced some flickering, but only when I had the settings all the way up. I haven't experienced any issues with load times, crashes, or hitching (but keep in mind I've only put in around two hours).

Some locations enforce a three strike policy. You can't stop asking for the protection plan until the customer denies you three times. Anal employees will always adhere to this policy, but if a salesperson seems especially desperate, they are probably under pressure. Not making one's protection plan quota can mean fewer shifts, shorter shifts, and lead to accusations that one is not a team player. It can be a very hostile work environment.

It's not only protection plans, either. Employees also have to achieve a minimum number of membership cards, pre-sells, used sales, and units per transaction. None of these quotas are fixed. They all depend on the number of hours worked, transactions handled, and units sold. This sometimes creates a vicious circle where the least successful employees get stuck working the worst shifts and don't ever get the chance to bump up their numbers.

If you're having problems, try going to the stores at different times. You'll eventually either stumble across the black sheep who doesn't care and won't ask you for anything, or the wonder kid who is doing so well that they are under no pressure to harass you.

If you blocked, you'd just be giving the zombies something to bite.

It is more likely a hand-warmer. Players use them to keep their hands warm and loose between games.
