Strike on legendary is the best way to play as far as I'm concerned.

I've played the initial quest, done some free wandering, and just finished the Strike mission, all with the same class (Hunter). All told, I've played maybe 5-6 hours, with probably 2/3 of that being the Strike mission. I really, really like what I've played so far.

Warning: frank discussion of the Strike mission follows so, Spoilers I guess.

If you've watched the Unfinished video, you've seen the first third or so of the Strike mission. You have those three waves to survive and they can get tough. My team was pretty well leveled (6, 6, and 4) and I think one of the other duders had played before, because he knew where to go for some loot chests that were off the critical path. I think we team wiped 3 or 4 times and had to restart that section each time. We made it through, and got to the real bitch of the mission: a huge tank called a devil walker. I don't know how to describe it, except that it's a massive fucking bullet sponge with a cannon that can kill you instantly via splash damage. Enemies spawn into the area occasionally, but killing the captains gets damn hard as we were all constantly low on ammo. I think I only ran out once, but it was a struggle. After the fifth or sixth time we team wiped on this, having to start the whole section over again, a kind of funny thing happened. We spawned in a relatively safe area. I was frustrated and considering bailing, so I sat down. One of the other members of the fire team did too. Then the third started dancing. So the two of us who sat down started dancing. All told,we spent maybe 5-7 minutes dancing, sitting, pointing, and waving. Finally, one dude headed out into the combat area...and we took the fucker down. It took a long time and was supremely frustrating, but rewarding. There was a final boss that was also a little spongey, but a better balanced variety of fodder enemies spawned in at different stages to provide ammo drops. We only wiped once, and probably wouldn't have if we hadn't tried to retreat a bit. Bingie's done a pretty smart thing by making the final arena open...but putting hard as hell enemies outside the door you came through to STRONGLY discourage you from retreating or just trying to snipe from door cover.

While I did have some problems with that Devil Walker encounter's balance, I still think this "alpha" has been a great experience. I"m torn between trying the other classes out and waiting for the beta at the end of July or just the full release. Either way, I'm pretty excited for this.

Now try legendary, its where the real Destiny begins.

Its also why I think having enemies (which are damn near impossible to kill for some) spawn right at the door to be a very bad idea. Not having a place to fall back to in order to regroup makes it extremely difficult for a lot of the people I've played (randoms and none us have mics) with to get a grasp on what they need to be doing during the last boss. Luckily, for me I've learned to use the area to the right of the main door with the stairs down as my fall back point.

@atesh42: Well as of now I'm a member of the clan not just the group. I didn't notice anything earlier when I was playing (one or two minutes ago), but I was only apart of the group then so maybe it'll be different when get on later.

@liquidprince: From what I understand this trailer is from last year.

The issues you stated are most likely one of the reasons why they didn't show it before.

@zevvion: I would the only problem for me is as I stated in another thread, I never want to do a strike on brave. It lacks the intensity of legendary.

EDIT: PSN GTCknight just in case.

@development: I would keep in mind that the play style in this trailer isn't necessarily the only play style in the game.

Yup. Thought of that after I hit 'submit.'

From what I have read on neogaf which had thread full of info from various sources. The blood is how you heal. Basically in order to heal you have to suck up the blood of enemies and some items, but if you suck up too much you will turn into a beast yourself; which will have some kind of negative effect on your control of the character and the only way (that we know of) to turn back into a human will be to drain/suck up human blood.

Ohhh, I get it. For a sec I was confused, but the important distinction is that sucking up "demon" blood is bad, while "human" blood is good? Seems like a hard thing to balance without it becoming a horrible chore.

Keep in mind what very little we know of the lore right is that the city is afflicted by a blood based virus.

EDIT: just realized that might have come condescending which was NOT my intent. I just wanted to try and make as understandable as possible.

So, with blood everywhere like that, you gotta assume that it's important somehow.

Maybe, being covered in blood is like souls? Like some sort of buff? Heals you?

I'm not sure, but being covered in blood has to be important somehow.
