I really want to see this game get made, it seems to have all the trappings of a great sandbox game. Add on top of that, its an RPG. Its like Minecraft had a baby with Skyrim (or i guess more aptly, Kingdoms of Amalur). You can build/craft EVERYTHING from castles and kingdoms to vast underground mines.
It was about that time again, where i browse kickstarter for anything worth seeing and this really jumped out at me. Funding thus far makes me think it wont make it ... but maybe it will get made regardless. O, and also ... it supports multiplayer and will have a small campaign as well. It honestly sounds too good to be true if you look at the feature list. I didnt think it was possible to do this in a full, high polly 3D world (terrain deformation and full destruction/construction of buildings). I wonder how many players a server would support ...
Anyways, check it out.
There's a game out pretty much just like that, it's an MMO, check it out:
Have you played Xsyon before? because its pretty damn horrible, lol. Its an actual MMO with all the MMO tropes that come along with that. This "Realm Explorer" is really more akin to Minecraft, its a REAL sandbox that just so happens to be an RPG with multiplayer support. The worlds are procedurally generated. Its a far different beast than something like Xsyon.
