I couldn't help but chuckle at the over dramatic tone of your post. I mean, I hate to be so patronizing, but have you heard of this little phenomenon called sports riots? You know, where hordes of crazed idiots destroy property, injure people and sometimes even commit murders? As another example, there are many actors who have been relentlessly stalked in real life and physically assaulted. What you've listed is certainly shitty behavior, but video games are not special, and it's just preposterous to conclude that they are somehow the worst when it comes to truly shitty fandom behavior. I think people who believe otherwise should learn to better cope with negativity.

I think I remember there was a loading screen tip that said that if you make a settlement angry you can return to it after a few days and people won't be pissed off if your reputation is not in the dumps. Try finding a bed and passing a few days to see if it helps.

I've not played Hollow Knight, but in Souls games this isn't really a big issue. If you carefully explore the world, look for shortcuts, and learn how to avoid enemies, you can get from a bonfire to the vast majority of bosses without trouble in less than a minute, if that. Optimizing your approach and overcoming adversity with more than just pure combat skill is part of the appeal of those games.

@gundato:No. This is still the shittiest thing that Blizzard should have had the balls not to do, period. They are exporting totalitarian censorship and causing a chilling effect with their actions. This can have much more far reaching consequences than anything you listed. As to the whole "Please don't use our platform as a political one" argument, Blizzard made a statement relating to this incident on Weibo that said “We will, as always, resolutely safeguard the country’s dignity” (source). Doesn't sound to me like the priority was avoiding just any political commentary on their platform. And the rules under which they banned him can be so broadly interpreted, they could ban anyone for anything under their "sole discretion". At most he should have been reprimanded, if comments of such nature were not allowed, and even then I'd find that objectionable and spineless. And please stop patronizing people with your "childish" this and "childish" that, when you clearly don't understand the gravity of the situation.
