I've only had this happen once and it was Final Fantasy 14. Played it to lvl 30 and found it boring and dropped it. Finally, after hearing many people say 'you just have to stick with it to the first expansion', I gave it another go. I wanted to see if there was something to what I was hearing, and *shrug* i've found they were right. The combat and story get pretty engaging after spending hours and hours getting through the initial story.

Is it worth it? That's hard to say. I couldn't recommend it to anyone because of how much of a slog the opening is, but i'm now thoroughly enjoying it and am very excited about the upcoming expansion.

Coming out of the sewers in Oblivion. Back when it was new and open world games weren't a dime a dozen, being greeted with open space and the ability to go anywhere was inspiring. They did a similar thing with leaving the vault for the first time in Fallout 3. I'm not sure if this feeling can ever be replicated again.

I normally don't post, but for catharsis sake, i'm going to agree with the point here. Story and other trappings aside, the game was excellent until the Marauder showed up. Part of this I blame on myself for playing on Ultra Violent. I found that fighting this guy sucked all the fun out of an encounter. Normally, losing in an encounter multiple times was a fun frustration, but this guy i just never wanted to engage with in the first place because fighting him wasn't fun, and i almost quit the game because of it. I do wonder if it would have been a more fun encounter on a lower difficulty, but then i feel like the rest of the encounters wouldn't reach the same highs.

Tunnel Travels: A regular underground level. Not very difficult but rushing through it would probably not end well. 6X0-QY8-0SF

Here 3 tough levels without bullshit:

Bullet Dodging: 0GD-KVQ-K1G - Tough bullet based platforming

Swamp House: F9L-PF1-LXF - Puzzle level using interesting combinations of mechanics in the dark

Sewer Cleaning: 4XB-52G-F0G - Find and defeat the goombas in this vertical pipe level

I edited my Mario Maker profile name with a 'GB-' in the front to show that it is my profile that made the level. My GB profile name is also the same as my maker name.

Goombas are growing in the sewer and need to be cleaned! The pests may not be to difficult themselves, but the sewers can be a treacherous place! 4XB-52G-F0G.
