@subscryber: @themaxdaddy: I tried Sony's trick for the disc drive and it did help with the noise. Mine was obnoxiously loud and now it is more tolerable. It's easy enough to do so it is worth giving it a shot.
I’m also having the crash issue after clicking on browse. It’s happening on both a Roku streaming stick+ and on a Roku streambar. I noticed it last week but I hadn’t used the app for a while so I’m not sure exactly when the issue started.
@d_o_a: I've had issues with unresponsive NPC's on PS5 as well. So far, I've found that fast traveling away from them and then returning to them gets them to respond, if it's an option. I've also found the raven to be mostly useless. It has helped me find some underground entrances but that is about it.
The combat can be frustrating at times. Some enemies are invulnerable in knockback/dodging/attacking animations in a way that can be frustrating. Having my axes go straight through an enemy and not do any damage is annoying.
That being said, I am having a lot of fun with it. My opinions on AC games align more closely with Vinny in that I want a stealth game where my character is an overpowered assassin, but this is fun. This doesn't feel like an AC game to me but it is a fun open world romp.
I have two headsets for gaming; the Playstation Gold and Hyper X Cloud II headsets. I prefer the Hyper X as they are more comfortable, have better sound quality, and a better mic. I got both for $80 on sale. The Hyper X are wired and are stereo when using them on consoles via the 3.5 mm jack on the controllers (they're 7.1 virtual surround on pc). The nice thing about the Playstation gold headset is they are wireless when using the USB dongle in the ps4/5 or pc. Not sure if they will work wirelessly with the Series X but they don't on the Xbox One and need to be plugged in.
@himsteveo: Do a search for "cpu gpu bottleneck calculator." There are a few decent ones and they will give you an idea of which component is under-powered compared to the other. I wouldn't rely solely on these but they will give you a decent idea of how these components match up. You'll probably have to wait a bit until they're updated to the new 3000 cards though.
I am in the same boat as you, OP. I built my computer in 2015 and was considering building another one once the new cards come out this year. But my current PC still plays games well (i5-4690K, GTX 970, M.2) and I always like to get the new consoles. I prefer to play on my couch so PC games usually take a back seat to console games. I'm leaning towards building a new PC next year and getting the consoles at release.
I just got a Secretlabs Titan with the Softweave cloth about a month ago and I love it. It is a firm chair which takes a couple of days to get used to but it really helps for long sessions. I started teleworking a week and a half ago and have been spending all day in the chair with no issues. The quality is good and I was happy with the price. Also, most of their chairs are on sale right now (at least in the US) so I would give them a look.
I have to say it is Assassins Creed 3. I am a history buff that loves American history and had loved the Assassins Creed series up to that point. So needless to say I was super excited about AC3. I wasn't even turned off by the long intro because I was so excited. It turned out the only thing good to come out of that game was the ship combat. At least it helped to make Assassins Creed Black Flag my new favorite.
@buzzard: It's funny because I had the very same thought last week. I was doing a lot of driving for the holidays and I was thinking about how much I like Giant Bomb and how the stability of the crew has been nice. Dan was the last on my list as to who would leave next. He has said before that this is his dream job and that he would be crazy to leave. I will miss him immensely. I hope the WWE treats him well.
