I often go back to the 2016 Holiday Specialtacular series. Rockin Around, Hitsmas and A Festive Feast are probably my favorites but I like them all. I also go back to the UPF from that time (12/02/2016) when Vinny plays Drunkn Bar Fight. Also, Jeff making snow angels in Steep is pretty great.

The best thing to do, in my opinion, is to let it happen naturally. My wife has been exposed to many different types of games just by watching me and by watching Giant Bomb when I have it on. She never played games before she met me but every once in a while something will grab her interest. I couldn't stop her from playing Until Dawn. It really grabbed her due to the campy teen horror storyline and easy controls. I grabbed a PSVR on Black Friday and Thumper grabbed her due to the easy controls and immersive experience. I love it when she finds a game she likes but she will never like games the way I do, and that's ok.

I've used Fanatical a few times and haven't run into any problems. I have often seen them partner with Polygon, like for a Two-Point Hospital bundle, so that gave me some confidence to try them out. I have used GMG quite a few times and have always had a good experience with them as well.

@ungodly: Couldn't have said it better myself. Like a big'ol bowl of mac and cheese on my TV.

Pretty much every game I have played this year has also come out this year. However, I just picked up Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen on PC in the Steam sale this weekend. Twenty hours in and I'd say I'm hooked. I started this game when it was a PlayStation Plus game on PS3 but fell off of it due to a lack of time. I always wanted to go back to it, and I am glad I did. Capcom made some nice improvements in Dark Arisen, the most essential (to me) being fast travel. They are also still supporting it with updates which are unexpected but appreciated. Needless to say, I will be playing Dark Arisen into the New Year.

@chris_sereday: I expect a certain level of fidelity when I pay $60 for a game. While I do believe that gameplay is most important, fidelity does matter as well. This game does not look good; to the point where it is unacceptable. I would have rather the developers take their time with this game to make it play and look good than release it prematurely with subpar visuals.

@ahifi: I find the situation similar to when I got rid of cable. As soon as I was rid of it, I did not miss it. There are plenty of games out there that are of high quality and do not engage in these disgusting practices

This decision is driven by the all mighty dollar. The only way that EA will get the message is if ALL GAMERS refuse to buy their product. Here is their stock quote over the last five days. Our outrage is not having much effect. To make a difference we need to boycott all EA purchases and do so over a significant period so that it affects their bottom line. Hurt their stock price to do the most damage.

I once did a 20-hour session of Theme Park when it first came out. My parents were redoing my room and had set me up a temporary room downstairs. For inconveniencing, they bought me Theme Park, and I jumped right in. Next thing I know the sun is coming up and my Dad came down from his room and asked me if I had been playing all night. It only felt like I was playing for a couple of hours.
