It cushions the blow when you slam the remote against your knee because you were too dumb to watch where you were swinging the damn thing.  Ouch!

I played without the jacket, thought I was cool. I have the Wii remote skin from EA for Tiger Woods 10. I threw it. The jacket is back on with skin.
