This is my very first blog ever so please bear with here. 
 
I have been a gamer for about 25 years now.  It all started with a Commodore C128d and my (still) beloved game Maniac Mansion. I can´t recount the times I´ve played with my best friend back then. After that I got the very first Game Boy (the grey one) with Super Mario Land. I still have it to this day and it still works great.  
 Over the course of the next years I got a NES, SNES, Mega Drive (or Genesis for you US guys), N64, PS 1, PS2 and so on. For the majority of the time I always was a PC gamer. 
I counted all my PC games at one point and I came up with about 250 retail titles (original Monkey Island, Loom, Doom Duke Nuke´em etc)... 
 
When I went to college I basically stopped playing and only played Halo with some buddies of mine but I didn´t own a gaming system between 2004 and 2007.  Around the time I got married we got a WII so we (wife, stepson and me) can play some casual games.
I then got an XBOX which I enjoyed at first but I RROD´ed on me after 5 months so I replaced it with a PS3. Because I really liked my Xbox I bought one AGAIN and have been playing on it mainly because of the Achievement system.  
 
I started studying Computer Science last year on the side so my time has to be divided between my work, my family, my friends, my studying and gaming. And this is where I am getting at what I want to say.  
 I have been playing on the nights where my wife is not around (she started going to school again as well) and am not working on my study stuff. So because I really want to do well with that and change my career towards the IT realm I decided to sell ALL gaming consoles and games except my PS3 for it´s BluRay capabilities (and Uncharted3 and ME3 I admit) and will refocus my time next semester.  
 
I love this site and I got my second XBox partially because of it but I think it´s time to finally grow up a bit (sort of) 
 
I don´t think I´ll ever give up gaming completely but I need to get rid of most of my gaming stuff. I´ve always had all main consoles at a time because I really wanted the option to play exclusives but I think my decision will be for the better.  
 
So I am sorry for the confusing and flustered way of writing this but I am not used to write long texts in english (I am German and my wife is from the US , we only speak english at home), but please comment and let me know what you guys think.
