It does seem like they put a few too many things behind unlock requirements. It's a bit much that there are zero cosmetic options available by default. Particularly emblems. And I'll just reiterate that the helmet selection is poorly designed. I mean the default Recruit helmet is one of the only decent designs. Where's my CQB helmet?

I don't know, if there's a flood gametype, I have a feeling they're going to utilize those assets in campaign too. I really didn't want flood in campaign, but hopefully they've made the interactions with them more entertaining.

During one of the Halo Comic-Con panels Frank O'Connor straight-up said "you will not be fighting any Flood in Halo 4". They'll very likely be mentioned in Halo 4, and I'm sure they'll make appearances in Halo 5 and 6 in some capacity, but rest easy knowing there aren't any "The Library" or "Cortana" levels lying in wait in Halo 4.

I still hold a grudge against G4 for turning a great technology channel ZDTV/TechTV into a games only channel that instantly turned away a huge part of TechTV's audience by being exclusively about "gaming culture" whatever that is. A big sign of their decline was when DirectTV cut G4 and publically stated something along the lines of "no one watches your crap anymore anyway so why should we bother?"

I remember feeling angry about DirectTV dumping G4 for a few seconds, but then I realized I hadn't even watched that channel for years.

I'd suggest someone lampoon adventure games, but I'm not really sure anyone could tell a satire from the real thing at this point.

The alternate American history sounds interesting. My only gripe would be that I kind of use Assassin's Creed as an interactive history book/research. I'll have to shift perspectives while playing this... no biggy.

I trust that's a little bit of hyperbole. It's all dramatized and/or fictionalized to some degree beyond just the obvious Assassin/Templar premise. And it's the subtle tweaks they make to history that are much more important than the more blatant ones.

The same mindset you need to have while playing the alternate-history DLC is the exact same mindset with which you should approach the main game. Never take history-based entertainment at face value.

I finally stopped listening to the Bombcast a few weeks ago, and to be honest, I should have done that a while ago. I'm all for quirky personalities and a few tangents, but I come to Giant Bomb for video game coverage with personality, not post-modern comedians that sometimes talk about video games, and that's what it's been slipping into.

And for all the joking they do, there's a real undercurrent of weary cynicism, and that's not a compliment. There's very little genuine joy showing through in what they do; maybe that's ultimately what happens when your job and hobby are the same thing, I don't know. What I do know is that the Bombcast has become taxing to listen to. It just isn't fun any more, so I moved on.

I still value Quick Looks and especially the Random PC Game installments. My Premium Membership just renewed, and I'll hold onto it this year, but I have my doubts about sticking with this longer than that. Not sure why I even wrote this all out, considering I'm most likely to just receive insults for it. I do want to enjoy the Bombcast, I really do.

Why can't I just have a nice black shirt, jacket or hoodie with the default, iconic Giant Bomb logo?

No Caption Provided

You know, the thing up in the top-left corner of the site? That'd be great.

These other designs are, well, nice I suppose, but I would actually WEAR a proper Giant Bomb logo shirt, jacket or even a hoodie. And I don't even wear hoodies.

@CrystaljDesign:

That's Chris Remo and one of his friends (also on Idle Thumbs) is Steve Gaynor who used to work there as a level designer.

That's just my guess though.

It seems he was employed at Irrational for a little while in 2010. He's sitting beside Ken Levine in this Giant Bomb interview.
