@gaftra: It's not really a game, you fill out a form and join the steam group. And they make you play a game in big picture so they know you have a controller. Yeah, what a game.
@leinad44: He didn't really say much about Jon and this whole thing isn't about him in the slightest. Jon doesn't go around making an ass of himself and doesn't start twitter arguments because journos ask him questions. He just happens to be that other indie guy and is roped into everything.
I remember seeing a panel where a japanese guy asked phil and jon about their opinion on japanese game design, and phil, having never released a game at this point, made fun of him. Jon calmly said why he doesn't agree with modern japanese game design.
How do I pick them up. There's no way to do if from my own mailbox, and I can't find the option at the actual post office. I would really like to pick up the piece of art I bought to get going on my second museum level, but I have no idea how I'm supposed to get it.
What gets me is people know Dota has a super steep learning curve, yet they just jump in blind and wonder why people are pissed at them. It's an average 30-40 minute game and people don't have time to hold your hand all the way through. Play bot matches, actually use the learn tab that's right there in the game and try and figure stuff out before going in. I'll give you a freebie right now though, google welcome to dota, you suck. It is a really good beginners guide and there's even a version right in steam.
Also look around the steam guides for heroes your playing, because you can literally load those builds right into the game and set the items to quickbuy. Valve has done a very good job giving people the information they need, and are slowly working on ease of access. Use the tools they've given you and you'll find that people yell at you almost never. You will obviously have those one or two assholes from time to time, but what game doesn't?
@ttocs: They came out and said they're giving PC gamers a good amount of options and tweaks. Full DX11 support and all that jazz. Also the PC version is a whopping 30gb-ish, so they're not compressing anything.
I don't think the score should have been changed at all. It isn't even an issue that effects everyone. I've had no problems at all playing it today, and I've been playing it basically the whole day. Also it's a launch day server overload. This is not representative of what 99.999% of the rest of this games life span is going to be like. Dumb.
