Losing Austin for these deliberations, you can see the hole left in the quality of the argumentation with his absence. I will say that Alex carried the torch as best as he could and I am happy he fought for Nier as hard as he did. Most of my tastes align with Dan and Alex; though I feel like Dan didn't do a great job defending Zelda (even if I felt exactly the same about reliving the discovery of A Link to the Past in the same way, he basically made a commercial pitch that doesn't articulate the things that made it special, though Brad did pick up a lot of that slack). I don't get Jeff's personal crusade against Zelda; but I feel like someone mentioned earlier that every year I feel like he has one weird opinion that I just don't get. I also felt that Abby tried too hard to tear down Nier and the "I think Cuphead should be higher" bit wore on me. I felt like there were a lot of times that someone was trying to sum up their thoughts and get to their point and were cut off halfway because of a lot of interruptions.

I think Vinny was very well-measured and well-thought-out just about all of the times that he spoke up (except for the harsh "pervy" attack on Nier. These were unnecessary low blows and blatantly ignore the Adam and Eve fanservice when throwing the "objectification" card). I wish Jason was there to make his cases, even though I feel like he didn't talk as much as I would have liked in the previous episodes and Jan unfortunately was too fresh to give much input (though he rooted for Yakuza 0 which was totally robbed). Brad did a good job arguing for Zelda even though I think Destiny 2 got by easier than it deserved to and he seemed to lose a lot of the other things he wanted to champion. Ben did a great job overall arguing for the games he cared about and articulated his arguments pretty well and while I didn't agree with all of his points, he helped bring the discussion up a bit.

It's probably all in good spirit and I doubt Dan really takes it to heart but I still feel the "Let's all hate Dan because he's Dan even when he's done nothing wrong" is getting old as a viewer. He's been pretty good natured during this series and offered help often (which somehow turned into things like "DAN HAS A CHEAT SHEET" even though he brought it for everyone).

Agreed. I think he has been treated a little unfairly in this series considering he has gone out of his way to not be a heel by offering help and then, for whatever reason, he's still getting a lot of flak when he's not being antagonistic. I feel like some of the frustration over playing Sunshine is being directed his way since it's a game he picked to play.

(As an aside, I hope Abby can start making less bets that are obviously in her favour (2-to-1, etc) because it's not as fun when she can't agree to a fair bet. I am glad that she goes into a lot of bets and she keeps things interesting, though. She's totally capable and can pull off some great gameplay moments too!)

After seeing how much Dan's getting ragged on, though, I'm beginning to root for him more and more.

I was surprised when the latest 3MA had Austin on, and thought maybe I should keep an eye out for sometime from Rob over here, and I was not disappointed!
