i've watched enough on twitch to know that the things i didn't like about the first two - the jank, the awkward run/walk, the constant stopping and starting with menus and cut scenes etc etc, are still present in the third.

maybe watch some and see how it compares with what you remember?

i preferred Divinity, i found the gameplay to be more responsive and satisfying, i thought Pillars was a bit flat in that sense, a bit too devoted to the old model.

Darkest Dungeon will take some beating, also the Resident Evil Remaster will be up there somewhere.

awesome, I've been meaning to go back to it, and I'm a lot more likely to get stuck into it on console.

i love co-op in a game like dark souls because it's all about the challenge, having the other guy there helps a lot and you get a sense of fellowship if you down a tough boss together.

elder scrolls is not about the challenge it's about losing yourself in a world, and in my experience the presence of another player never helps with atmoshpere or immersion, in fact it's usually harmful to it - dude why are punching the door? that's not how a catman behaves, let it load ffs, you're killing my buzz.

i mean, this guy's fun n'all, but do i want him in my game?

@fredchuckdave: you actually seek out Vin Scully games? i follow the dodgers a little bit but i can only watch them if there's an alternate broadcast, every year i pray that this is the one, this is the year he finally retires, but no, that's never going to happen apparently.

i'm gonna fire out some negatives here, i didn't like either of the first two, and i won't be getting the third unless a quicklook or some twitch viewing changes my mind.

my main problem is i don't think cd projekt red have a good grasp of pacing or flow. most aspects of the witcher games i find jagged and jumpy, from the way it controls, to the rate that cut-scenes pop up, to the over-abundance of dialogue, it all feels out of balance and awkward to me.

i can see the appeal of the dark and mature medieval setting, but i think a lot of the characterization in the games is puerile, and i can't play them for long without getting the urge for something more acclimatized to the marketplace you could say.

also as an rpg there's not nearly enough customization in it for my tastes.

I primarily looked forward to a new Battlefront to see larger battles, and I already know that won't happen. It seem to focus inwards, like the removal of squads moving to a duo partner system.

i understand that, but you don't know yet whether that's a good thing or bad thing, haven't you ever been pleasantly surprised by a direction you thought you'd hate? and besides, what can we do except have faith in the developer? i'm still not understanding the value you're placing on pre-emptive criticism, when you said it's too late once the game is out. why? do you think there is a chance to change it?

@funkydupe: if it was your intention to get dice to change their player count by whipping up a fuss about it, then i was not aware such a thing was possible this close to release. otherwise i don't get how it's too late to be critical once the game is out, because surely only then do you have grounds for criticism. up to that point it's impossible to know what the game will be like, and guessing, i'm guessing, will only lead to more wrong assumptions than right ones. the only people who can have an informed opinion about what's best for the game at this stage, are the developers.

edit: also by complainers i just meant critics, wasn't hinting at any unfounded-ness.
