fable 2, i had an evil fat pirate character, then late in the game i started a family with a whore in that last town on the map, and fell completely in love with the voice acting from the five children we had, i used to go questing, all the while looking forward to hearing them run up to me as i rolled back into town.

at the end - no question, i chose love, and set about living happily ever after. while wrapping up unfinished quests, i unleashed some kind of a wraith or something from a previous area, a message came up on screen just after the damned autosave flashed - the wraith just happened to hit my home town, my wife had been killed, and my kids packed off to an orphanage.

i will never get over it, and lionhead, I will never ever ever forgive you.

so, like the Halo skull system, where you can click on extra difficulty options before you play - ammo drops are halved, enemy armor is upgraded, etc,

who here would like to see this become standard in games? particularly in RPGs, where the possibilities become much broader, such as the obvious Eat/Sleep mode, or perhaps even phobias for your character, like a fear of deep water, with appropriate penalties imposed, it would make RPing a lot more vivid, and would extend the life of the games considerably.

thoughts?

(and please remember, these are OPTIONS we're talking about.)

There's intelligent metal and hardcore punk out there, you guys.

Word.

but the fact is the wall of noise keeps out most people, and so what, extreme metal is music's best kept secret, an incredibly healthy scene nowadays, with tons of innovation.

i have a stronger memory of the first time i truly lost myself in a game - Tomb Raider, we had no memory card, so each death meant starting again from scratch, but we did have lots of weed, so, high as a monkey, i became engrossed in the atmosphere, and expert at making lara's action smooth and fluid and exact. still searching for that high.

halo anniversary,

actually, can someone update me on the halo 4 situation? do we know if there will be ranked playlists?

because i'm sick to death of having games decided by whoever has the least amount of clueless numbskulls on the team.

mass effect 3 was the most disgraceful (the face import balls-up, AND how easy it was, i don't care about the ending)

but mercenaries 2 was the most dissappointing for me. I loooooooooved the first one, and the MAIN reason i enjoyed the mass effect games in the first place was because of pandemic's programming.
