I was playing Halo 4 in co-op as the new year rang in. The only other game I have played so far in 2021 is Skyrim. Time is a flat circle.

It could be pretty fun, but I have zero confidence in Kojima's ability to deliver good writing. As he took over more control of MGS the writing got worse, and once on of the lead writers of MGS 1-3 left they got abysmal. If this is truly Kojima Unchained it's probably going to be pretty bad writing, but the guy does have weird interesting gameplay ideas from time to time. This definitely looks like it could be really cool. I guess we'll just have to see how it goes.

That whole part with all the "tribal" outfits was terrible. Normally Resident Evil has a corny story, but usually they don't delve into anything really racist. I feel like that section, and how the game just treats Africa as some fantasy, monster-slaying playground, kind of brings the whole thing down. I might overlook it if the rest of the game was better, but it's just a combat-heavy reskin of RE4. All of the atmosphere and tension is gone when you're playing with a buddy in a shooting gallery. The story doesn't even get really entertaining until Wesker shows up. At that point they finally ditch all the semi-serious military shit and go back to the B-movie antics that define the series.

The boss fights, The Mercenaries, and the least few levels are fun, but everything leading up to that was just garbage. It's a bad game. And it ruined some 360 sticks for sure.

@crazybagman: They also revolutionized first person shooters multiple times over and were known for being a pretty unorthodox company. Valve used to care about making games unlike anyone else, but what have they got now? Dota 2 isn't pushing game design forward, and it wasn't a new concept. CSGO is great, but it didn't alter the gameplay drastically from Source. The thing that's surprising is that a developer known for making incredibly creative singleplayer games would just stop making games altogether and outsource it to other devs while they just work on VR. That they've led everyone on all these years is just insulting.

I haven't enjoyed playing any Nintendo games online so far, and most of the games I would want to have online just don't. If they announce online capabilities for at least some Virtual Console games I might be interested, but I don't know about their other games.

Splatoon had the problem of nobody really playing it outside of Japan after a few months, so all the matches were laggy as all hell. Between that, the lack of a unified party system before you go into matchmaking, and the lack of voice chat, I really didn't see the appeal of the game. It was a great idea, and the 2 splatfests I did were fun, but I have so many online shooters on my PC that are far better games, and you can actually talk to your team about strategy! I can't imagine paying 20 dollars for the few times I might play it with my wife.

Maybe they'll announce something cool in the E3 Direct that seems worth playing online. After all these years of waiting for Nintendo to get completely on board with online gaming, I just don't expect it at all anymore. That said, I've just stopped looking for that in Nintendo games. They make amazing singleplayer games, some of the best in the business, and that's all they really need to do for me. I'll get my online elsewhere.

The only Kickstarter games I've contributed to were Shovel Knight and Mighty No. 9. I love Shovel Knight, but MN9 has convinced me to never pay for a game before its' out again. After I can check out some reviews and gameplay videos, and after a price drop, but I feel like every game developer is just trying to scam me now lol

I'm sort of new here, so forgive me if this first post is a bit sloppy, but I just wanted to put the word out about this awesome Halo PC mod that just released today. For anyone not familiar with Halo PC, there was a version of the game called "Halo: Custom Edition" released way back in 2004. This version of the game has no singleplayer by default, but allows for the use of modded maps in multiplayer. Over the years a group called the Custom Mapping Team (CMT) have put out a number of popular maps, and now a group within CMT has put out something really brilliant.

SPV3 stands for Singleplayer Version 3, and is CMT's attempt at completely remaking the original Halo. It's not just a simple reskin either, it's practically a whole new game. They've added in content that was cut from several Halo games, as well as weapons/enemies/mechanics from later Halo games. Ever wanted to play through the original Halo fighting Brutes and piloting Anti-Air Wraiths? Ever wish you had ODSTs with you? Want to use weapons from the later games? SPV3 has it all and more. But as LeVar Burton told us, you don't have to take my word for it!

That trailer should give a pretty good idea of what you're in for. The mod incorporates features from all of Bungie's Halo games, as well as quite a few original additions. You can check out the same channel as the video above(the channel of the SPV3 team lead) for more gameplay from the mod. You probably noticed that it's only the first half of the game, and there are 2 versions of Silent Cartographer. The Silent Cartographer: Evolved was a map released earlier in the year by a different group within CMT, and for much of that group it was their final map. It's packed in as a bonus with SPV3, but isn't a part of the actual campaign. The rest of the game will be releasing at a later date, but what's on offer here is substantial. Having just played up through the opening of Truth and Reconciliation, I can tell you the levels are significantly longer than the originals. Pillar of Autumn and Halo both felt at least twice as long, and there's even some new voice acting!

Honestly, I could go on forever about how cool this mod is, but you can just try it yourself! You can find download links and more info at their official subreddit here. It does require a CD key for the PC version of Halo, but lucky for you new copies are just $20 on Amazon! Everything else, you'll find on the subreddit. I highly recommend this mod to any fans of the older Halo games. Hell, I'd even recommend it if you've never touched Halo at all! This is shaping up as the definitive way to experience the original Halo (in my opinion anyways), and it's a shame more people don't know about it!

Either way, I think the release of this mod is plenty of reason to Unseal The Hushed Casket once again.
