I heard about this game on a PC Gamer article a while back, but played through it in one shot yesterday - it’s sooo good! So satisfying with some great, clever, and funny writing! This is something I wish more people played, so I wanted to make a post bringing ‘awareness’ to it, for lack of a better term. It’s just great!

Really recontextualises that bombcast and the way his 'leaving' was talked about... Makes me wonder just how much damage the RV takeover really has done to this site, particularly in retrospect. The whole RV era just seems like a time fraught with so much unnecessary bullshit that had such a damaging impact on many people. Things seem to have stabilsed and become better, but it also feels like it didn't have to turn out this way, had RV had any fucking clue about what made this site popular in the first place and not tried to fuck it into the dirt.

It's also a bit hard not to be wistful about the different forms of 'the good old days' of Giant Bomb - I really like the mix/crew in place (as much as I sometimes am over Dan's constant loud yelling about certain topics and all of the weed talk - not sure why, but all the weed talk kind of bothers me/makes me uncomfortable a bit; not sure if it's the fluid legalities around it or that I just find almost all parts of weed culture annoying, because talk of drinking/being or getting drunk doesn't bother me...). I really liked the mix before Jeff was fired, GBeast Classic (with Jeffy B and Austin), and Business Dave's contributions to UPF. I know nothing good can stay that way forever, but it just feels like RV fucked a whole lot of things up in ways that shouldn't have happened. But hey, I don't work there... What do I know?

I've essentially got a Stream Deck Mini on my keyboard, and I only really use one of the keys to start and stop recording. I was more curious if the audio quality is much better etc.? Seems like it's not though...

What does the GoXLR setup do for podcasting/streaming? Is it a demonstrably setup better than using a Blue Yeti etc.? Is that difference justified by the price? Just curious if it would be worth it for podcasting/recording etc.

@sahalarious: I should have specified that I feel that way about smaller indie teams that are making cool, interesting, fantastic games that may get lost in the shuffle of big releases. More a way to show those devs support and 'encourage' diversity in releases etc. in my own little way. While you're right, and that I don't owe them anything, I feel that some of those experiences may stop coming out if no-one buys or plays them. Games like HAAK, Freshly Frosted, Lumbearjack, Haiku The Robot, and Soda Crisis may stop existing if they don't get supported, so I like to do that.

I was curious as to when folks start a new (either newly purchased or newly released) game? Only because I tend to buy a lot of games on release, then wait for at least a couple of months for patches etc. - but I feel compelled to buy them mostly on release to give the devs etc. their monies and release week sales numbers. The only time I tend not to do this is for competitive games (mostly fighting games). It also makes me feel like I've had 'more' value out of the game as I've had it longer. How do other people handle this? Not seeing the stutters etc. and the changes to the starting process in Elden Ring has been great, as it runs awesome on my machine now, but there are some parts (like the big hammer not dropping when you kill the boss in the Murkwater Catacombs) that have been tweaked too...

@daavpuke: Huh, didn't know they owned that much.

I do remember Jeff saying he was feeling burned out, and I think I'm remembering Jeff say those things too. I was wondering why the premium model changed - I was thinking changes to what premium got you was super weird, but just, for whatever reason, didn't think it was because of RV. Naivete on my part I guess.

@brian_: That's my question as well. And what, specifically, makes this a better fit?

@daavpuke: I've been thinking more and more that the number of key staff that had left had to be tied to RV, but I'm not sure how. Why 'fuck RV'? Not trying to start shit, just genuinely curious...

I'm curious of what changes, if any, are made to the premium model or the content/types of content produced. Also curious as to what attempts at 'censorship', for lack of a better term, on language etc. will be put in place... Change and uncertainty are motherfuckers...

This was my favourite album the year it came out and a superb metal release. Heavy, with some great instrumentation and vocal work, but still had almost jazzy elements of chiiiiiill too.

The Work was very good as well, but trumped, for me, by a few releases last year, particularly those by Vulvodynia and Holding Absence.
