The more I think about this project, the more I think it is not a thing that should exist. Splitting it up just opens up a big can of worms. I don't think it works particularly well for a story driven RPG. It's not like installments would be months apart, they would be at least a year. At the same time, I just can't see a way they could do the whole game in a timely manner as one release and sell it for $60.
I've only ever played this on Playstation back in the day, and while I'm sure it was a pretty good PC game, it probably should have never come out on console because I remember the load times being horrible and the controls very hard to wrangle. Maybe I'll check it out again on PC for nostalgia's sake.
This doesn't seem to be doing a lot different than FFXII, except they totally threw economy of design out the window. Here's tons of systems layered on top of systems with kind of a messy UI. It looks great, and maybe it's good in spite of those issues, but I can't help wishing this was hard sci fi like Mass Effect instead of anime.
I would have much rather preferred another Mario Golf or Mario Strikers to tennis. Oh well, one less game I have to buy this holiday season, I'm not complaining.
This game certainly looks and sounds the part, but the feel is way off. I think it's hard to pull off a multiplayer shooter like this without it feeling like fan servicey laser tag. I get it, but at the end of the day I just don't get any heft from any of the weapons and the game suffers from lack of variety. I don't feel like the heroes are implemented very well in the game either. I would love a single player Star Wars game with this level of polish though.
