I don't feel that Shadow of the Tomb Raider had any merit coming up in Most Disappointing. I'm pretty deep into it now and it is in no way a bad game. I think the worst that can be said for it is that it may not quite live up to its predecessor, but even that is highly debatable. Compared to the last two games, SotTR has tipped the scales away from combat in favor of exploration/puzzle solving, and I think that's a change for the better. The graphics are amazing, the gameplay is largely the same with an increased emphasis on collecting items from the environment/crafting. One thing I really appreciated was the treatment of the native tribal people of Peru. In a lot of games they would have given them some shitty accent in English, but all the dialog here is spoken in their native tongue even from side mission NPC's. There's a lot of it too as this is a big section of the overall game. This game has made me feel things that other games in the series have not. At one point you are exploring an underground sacrificial chamber and literally crawling on your belly through human viscera. I was squirming in my chair. Anyway, glad it was rightfully dismissed from that list promptly. Also, RDR2 fans are the Witcher 3 fans of 2018. They can not and will not hear any criticism of their beloved.
