It's the Ciiiiiiircle of Liiiiife! (Ah-yimmy-yammy-yay!)
Block - Run = Lose. Yes, it might make the game "too easy" if you were able to run, but they could easily rectify that by upping the damage on blaster hits you do take. Actually, that would be killing two birds with one stone, since at the moment it's nearly comical how many hits you can take.
"yah the gameplay is innovative and the environment seems pretty interesting and the weapon creation is cool, but the combat targeting system where target area of the body looks cheesy, and it just feels like its going to be another oblivion"
If you've played Fallout, and are referring to other people who have played Fallout, then yes, you are the only one.
I agree with most of your points, and had a few issues of my own. As others have mentioned, I'm extremely glad for this demo, because it's a packed holiday season and I really don't have the money to spend on "meh" games; this one looked like a must-buy until I got to play it.
"i just finished watching the dark knight. its better than begins. kinda obvious story devices though unlike batman begins"
This is more or less my opinion.
Batman Begins would probably be the better movie if someone other than Ledger had won the job for Dark Knight. I like Begins though, very clever, especially if you saw it in the theater with no explanation or spoilers, and no word from Batman on screen since the Bat Nipples 7 years previous.
Just because games are becoming more expensive to make does not mean that the bill should be passed to the consumer.
Actually, that's exactly what it means.
Eeeevil corporations exist to make profit so they can pay their employees and the shareholders who invested money in them. They - get this - will not operate if they're not making money.
As for $60 being too much, I heartily agree with the OP, which is why I buy on PC when available and buy from Half.com most of the rest of the time. Only must-have-first-day releases get my full $60. EDIT: Contradiction? Not really. The fun thing about capitalism is that it's a two-way street.
We won't know till the end of the year whether or not it's a hit, though with MS backing it up now it would have to be a major flop for them not to do a second one.
