@fram: That's the song I thought of when I read the title of the thread.

@alternate said:

You should be fine. It is mostly antisemitism on a political scale. For example the rise of right wing parties in germany, holland, sweden, etc. - who are broadly intolerant to a lot of races and religions - and general anti Israel / pro Palestinian stuff from the left wing parties.

In terms of the general public I would say there is less antisemitism than there has ever been. You are way more likely to get grief if you are brown or even vaguely arab looking tbh. Or maybe black when you get nearer eastern europe. Put it this way - I would feel safer walking around europe as a jew than I would in the american midwest as a person of colour.

This post is an absurdly misleading description of reality. The skyrocketing antisemitism that Sweden has experienced is almost entirely the result of antisemitic demographics immigrating to Sweden, not the neo-nazis that we've have for decades. Less antisemitism than there has ever been? Try walking through Stockholm or Gothenburg or Malmö wearing a kippah and see if you can repeat that claim that with a straight face.

Have you ever been to the Midwest, by the way?

"Bad take" and "problematic" are two phrases/words almost exclusively used by the sort of Twitterspeak morons I can't help but hate with every fiber of my being. But that's nothing compared to seeing middle class people use the word "folks" (extremely common on social media) because they desperately want to relate to the working class and feel like they grew up harvesting soybeans or something despite growing up in NYC/LA. Please quit that shit, you really fucking suck.

Nobody's mentioned the obvious which is it being on like the arcade classic Donkey Kong so I'll be the one to do it. You know you won, G?

Thanks for this. Any possibility you could restore the original Forum Activity element? The "latest from the community" thing doesn't do anything useful unless you want to read some guy's blog from 2 months ago. I'd much rather see the latest 10 forum posts.

An Internet free from Vice Media? I fail to see the downside.

Far Cry 5 was supposedly one of the biggest releases of 2018 but it was so lame and forgettable from top to bottom that it feels like last year.

@therealturk: Tea is the most pointless beverage ever made. Demand more from life than vaguely flavored warm water.

Does iOS even support video downloads directly to the device? Last I saw that sort of thing was still very restrictive but I guess they could've changed it. I use qlcrew.com to find videos, download them on my PC and load them onto the VLC app via iTunes.

I posted this in another thread but this seems like a better place for it. The highlighted feature element is comically large to the point that it takes up almost the entirety of the usable browser area of a 1440p screen. Here's a simple comparison of the way it currently is and the way it would look if trimmed a bit (I just scrolled down a little).

The current state of things:

A more reasonable state of things:

And have they said something about the reasoning behind what appears to be an attempt at constricting the forums? Seems like a weird thing to do given the importance of community engagement on this website. If the problem is a lack of space, I know just the place to get it.
