Feels like this isnt clear for all but the ps3 also has the 8gb install, its just part of the engine and probably the reason GTA5 has a chance of running smooth on this gen systems. No disc swap is a nice extra but never understood when it grinds peoples gear.
Dont think alot of people without hdd will get a surprise because noticed that even in the smallest toy stores got pamphlets warning people about this. Weird seeing technical stuff in a random toy store but props for being on top of it.

Thought about it as soon as I saw it but assume that it will all be instanced and you can look outside but choppers wont be able to look inside. In the trailer you see someone walking up to a home but the building doesnt have any open windows (although the apartment might be higher up). On the other hand at the start with the jet fighter you see a building (with tenniscourt on top) completely modeled that could house 16 apartments. Same for the garage and maybe private hangers, that when you pick a car you just spawn outside and every building wont have 16 garage doors.

Just finished listening to this and in the end they mention aswell that your world will always be filled up to 16 players. You can choose to have your friends in but it will always be filled up by randoms with the same reputation level as you. With the "passive" mode you mentioned being your save haven. But man after listening to this even more excited start to sound like a Dayz/Eve Online world with your money and gear being the game and not your K/D ratio.

WOW biggest thing from reading the preview is that they confirm that GTA Online will go beyond the map of GTA 5 in the future. To me this confirms aswell next-gen / PC versions and a player count going above 16 in the future.

Although I think 16 is ok for now maybe even abit much in a open world of this size, because making it fun and playable they either need to limit the players freedom or the number of players. A map with loads of players running (shooting, driving, flying) around like headless chicken is only fun for about half a hour.

Grand Theft Auto Online is a dynamic and persistent online world for 16 players that begins by sharing gameplay features, geography and mechanics with Grand Theft Auto V, but will continue to expand and evolve after its launch with new content created by Rockstar Games and the Grand Theft Auto community. Grand Theft Auto Online takes the fundamental Grand Theft Auto concepts of freedom, ambient activity and mission-based gameplay and makes them available to multiple players in an incredibly detailed and responsive online world.

In Grand Theft Auto Online, players have the freedom to explore alone or with friends, work cooperatively to complete missions, band together to participate in activities and ambient events, or compete in traditional game modes with the entire community, all with the personality and refined mechanics of Grand Theft Auto V.

Players can invest in their character through customizing their appearance, improving their stats, owning customized vehicles, purchasing personal property, and taking part in missions, jobs and activities to earn reputation and cash to open up new opportunities to rise through the criminal ranks. The world of Grand Theft Auto Online will constantly grow and change as new content is added, creating the first ever persistent and dynamic Grand Theft Auto game world.

Access to Grand Theft Auto Online is free with every retail copy of Grand Theft Auto V and launches on October 1st.

This is posted under the video might want to add it because it explains more about the systems then the video does.

The issue that people were having is that the game had an instant replay system that recorded your last half-an-hour or so to your HD constantly.

Yeah that was terrible about GTA3........ wait what? You talking about GTA4?
O Rockstar what were you thinking!?!?! Maybe dont do that for 5.

First thing when I saw the car page and the speed with which the 3d models loaded (although completely unrelated) I thought "this is gonna look as good as the trailers and gonna run amazing on these consoles".
I was looking for the best price online and found it for 48 euro. But I almost feel bad paying 48euros for this compared to other games, I would gladly pay 150 and feel it justifies every penny.

I am holding out for the PC version, but this doesn't suggest anything to me.

The actual quote is:

In contrast, gamers are preparing their systems for a strong roster of games coming this fall, including blockbuster franchises, such as Call of Duty: Ghosts, Grand Theft Auto V and Assassin's Creed IV.

None of that suggests they're helping out with GTA on the PC, or that rockstar is working on it. It's just a list of games people are excited for, and they threw in one that isn't currently coming to PC. I really don't see any reason to get excited about this statement.

Gamers preparing their systems is of course getting 8gigs of free memory on their PS3 and 360 for GTA5 ^^ didnt think of that.
