Maybe I’ve got a bit too much showman in my blood, but I think Jeff reuniting with Vinny, Brad, and Alex is something you save for as long as possible. At least, that’s what I would do if I were them. That content would break the internet. You wait a few years and then do it down the road when the right moment comes along.
It’s like when they brought back the HotSpot on Giant Bomb and then had the episode with Rich Gallup. Sometimes it takes years for the time to be right. Worth the wait.
I continue to pay for premium because my understanding is that you need to have premium to access the “legacy” premium content from before January 2021. If I’m wrong about this, someone please correct me.
As far as new premium content, it’s pretty thin to the point where I can’t even tell you if any exists.
I continue to pay for premium to “support the team” and watch old stuff I guess.
Screened podcasts with Alex. Whiskey Media Happy Hour touching hands with Ryan. Reading user support emails during streams. Being way funnier than he got credit for.
Going to miss Rorie. He has just always seemed like a real genuinely great dude.
Maybe someone can make separate appreciation threads for those who lost their jobs so those sentiments don’t get lost in the (rightful) Fandom criticism in this thread.
The SNL analogy that others have made with original cast leaving but show surviving is perfect.
I think after original cast left and ratings dipped, SNL even brought back their own Dan, Dan Ackroyd, to try to right the ship.
Best of luck to remaining crew and new crew. I am going to be closely following The Jeff Gerstmann Show along with Nextlander, but I’m still in Giant Bomb’s corner too.
I played the Willow theme and tried to sing the lyrics, but I couldn’t make it work. Do I come in right when the music starts or do I wait a certain amount of time?
Also, Willow rules. One time my daughter picked up an acorn and threw it at another kid and I said “no, you’ll turn him to stone” and like one guy got it.
I thought I saw something that the new PlayStation Plus was launching in June with “700+ games”. That would mean way more games than listed in the link, right? Or did I misunderstand something?
