Also I mentioned this elsewhere but it would be cool if we got back to doing Quick Looks like an hour or more into the game. I've noticed a recent trend on GB that when they want to show off a game they start a New Game. I think typically the opening hours of any title are best experienced for yourself.
Didn’t want to watch the whole thing and spoil the beginning for myself but from what I saw it looks real good!
Also welcome to the club Jan! I’ve been starting work at 6:30, meaning I’ve had to wake up at 5:40, for years now! Amazingly I still stay up late. Sleep deprivation is the coolest.
@donutello: I installed it on PC and it's a night and day difference from the console version. I think it might even look better too or maybe it's just because I'm sitting close to the monitor. Either way it's very enjoyable now and I'm mellowing out to it.
Like I mentioned earlier I'm not a real performance snob but I can't go back to the console version - I really do think it's that bad. All the effects and even the warp have these serious framerate dips and just walking around feels like variable 25-30. If they patch it I would probably go back simply for the convenience of Quick Resume. I agree Play Anywhere is a great feature. Earlier this month I tried The Ascent and my PC was definitely not up to that so despite preferring mouse aim I went back to Series X. Now this game is oddly acting up on console and I'm back to the PC. It's nice that you have options.
@donutello: Good to know! Yah something is definitely wonky with it on console. Earlier today I put it into rest mode and when I came back to it a few hours later the game wouldn't start and I kept getting some bizarre system message I never saw before stating it needs to pull an update but it's not available now please try later. I actually had to delete the game and install it again on the console to get it to run.
Apart from that, after spending a bit of time with it my only other main complaint is that your character desperately needs a shadow, or at least some indicator where they are landing. A lot of these puzzles have you jumping on small platforms and I just can't judge the distance well enough. I think it's a cardinal rule that these sort of platformers need to show you where you'll land.
@riostarwind: I’m on a Series X. I’ve read others have similar issues. If it’s on PC Game Pass with cross-save I wouldn’t mind continuing there if the game plays at a smooth 60.
I’m playing this and my main issue, not sure if you experienced this yourself, we’re some surprisingly rough technical issues. I’m typically no snob about performance but the framerate on this game is distracting. It’s all the more surprising since it’s such a simple art style.
