Terrible ports of games, and shitty reviews.

I can no longer stay quiet about the fact that companies, seem to making more and more shitty games that are for all the platforms; yet when you get down to it, you usually end up finding out who they were really shooting for, yet this is never uncovered by the media for fear of never "getting the exclusive" on future titles.

A great example of this is the recent Fallout 3. It came out for PC, PS3, and 360. It seems that most sites that review games, gave this title excellent reviews, which it does deserve for the most part; but when I decided to buy the game after reviews that did not mention the fact that the PC version of it had some serious issues. I then realized I had just eloped with bethesda's support forum in search of seeking solutions to the games problems. There was a forum post on their site that mentioned the fact that some guy bought multiple copies of the game, and handed them out to his students, and basically said, "Tell me whats wrong with it boys." They came up with a rather scary list.

So amidst all of this, beth did come out with a patch, and what happened? Pretty much nothing. The majority of the PC populace are still crashing constantly even after the patch, and all of the solutions the more tech savvy people have posted. A word from the wise. Do not listen to the game's radio. After doing this my crashes were cut in half. Regardless if you use codec packs and do the exception list for the audio/video decoders, there appears to still be a problem with the games own codec it uses for the music.

This is just one example though, a rather good one, if I do say so myself. There are others that pop into my head as I write this, but I would be up all night talking about them.

Now onto the reviewing populace. A lot of the sites are sought after by like minded people that want to know whether or not a game is good, and if there are any issues with the title in question. I also realize there are time restraints and deadlines to crack out the reviews, and whatever else needs done, however I feed amidst all of this hussle and bustle, you are forgetting what I feel is most important. Quality over quantity. It seems, even more apparent as time progresses, reviews are not telling us everything. I am all for talking about the pro's and con's of a games design, but for pete's sake, give us a heads up if the game has issues. I don't want to buy another dead space, or gears of war for pc that has issues from the get go, only to find out this, then watch as there is no patch for the game, EVER.

So in summary, developers, stop making shitty ports and then never releasing a patch for months, or possibly ever, and review sites stop being the mans bitch and let people know if the game has technical flaws that could turn many good people emo, razor included.
